Her parents killed her....Not just murdered her, but pretty much tortured her. Cig. burns broken bones all kinds of crap. Her parents went to prison for it. She's buried behind the Greenup Health Dept. If you go to the top of the hill and make a left, Then look over the hill it's about 1/4 of the way down. An angel headstone. very beautiful grave.

Mary Magdalene Pitts was one of the first documented cases of child abuse , the cause of death was shock from the burns and beating by her father and housekeeper. Billy Ray did place her a new monument up and the original one is on display at Greenbo State Park Lodge.

It was her dad and the housekeeper that abused her. I have the book about it. They was horrible to her. They held her over a heating stove until her skin burned and then would put salt on her wounds. The little thing suffered a horrible life and death.

Well, she is a safe little angel now, My brother-n-law's grandfather did the autopsy on her, they called him Doc Woods! It is so sad that abuse like that would even take place and still does, you would think that Kentucky would have tougher laws against child abuse! Is that you Toby, looking back!

It was..a group of teenage punks vandalized it. The poor child suffered enough while she was living..I don't see why someone would want to tear up her monument!!! It's sad but child abuse happens every single day..even in little ole Greenup County

Yeah you can get the book at Stultz Pharmacy. I know a man who lived in the same holler as her. He told me a lot of stuff. They wouldn"t give her anything to drink and she would walk barefoot in the winter time to the creek and try to break ice to get a drink. They took hot pokers to her and she was so abused and tortued. They should have done them the same way they did her.
