I might win the legal battle but could very well lose the physical battle. Crashes aren't about retiring for life for me monetarily or mortally.

When the person in front on you stands on the brakes when they see yellow, and you rear end them, you will realize why these illegal robo ticket cameras are also unsafe.
With the passage of this bill, any citizen better be able to record ANY cop in public without fear of typical police retaliatory brutality.
If the government can take pictures of us and record us any time they please, they better not mind it when the tables are turned.
Ever think of not following so close to the car ahead of you? You know.. riding their ass? Driver 101 dont follow too close!

Exactly... get off someones ass and if they make a sudden stop you wont rear end them. Gee.. Rocket science - NOT

Big Big Brother! The lazy azz cops sit in an air conditioned car BSing on a cell phone too friggin lazy to watch for people who are running red lights and stop signs along with the lousy driving habits that go unchecked. So now you will get a ticket in the mail and some alky slimeball judge will screw you out of your money. These same slimeballs who sit on the bench and head for the bar after screwing people all day long NEVER get charged with a DUI! Wonder why?

Bow down to the police boot licker. There have been studies done on these that prove they cause accidents - bottom line.

Learn from history - rocket science - NOT.

Do you love the TSA too, do they make you feel safe from the boogey man?

Grow up and quit bowing down to a corrupt tyrannical revenue generating system designed to grab as much of your $$$ as possible, that the people of this state DO NOT want. But the politicians have been greased by corporate interest, and they passed this usurper legislation.

It takes two to tango but these red light camera companies/manufacturers have already been proven to use corrupt if not unethical tactics and have been punished by states like Texas for impropiety.

Look, if you want to live in a police state with cameras everywhere and give this government the power to do whatever they want you should relocate to north Korea.

This is America, and these cameras are illegal revenue generators.

FACTS:

The majority of the 20 red light camera studies and reports that we analyzed show increases in crashes, showing an average of a 27% increase in crashes and a 21% increase in injury crashes after red light cameras are installed.

70 to 80% of red light runners go through red lights within the first second after the light turns red. Studies in Texas, California, Pennsylvania and Virginia show significant red light violation drops after extending the yellow signal time on intersections. Also, several communities in the state of Georgia has seen an average 72% decrease in red light violations after mandating one additional second of yellow time to existing red light camera intersections.

While not true of all communities that install red light cameras, there are many communities that use these systems to fund large portions of their budgets, such as Houston, Texas that is now facing a $10 million budget shortfall after citizens voted to remove that city's 70 red light cameras. There are even several communities like Chicago, Chattanooga, Dallas and Nashville that have lowered yellow light times below the FHWA minimum of 3 seconds in order to attain higher red light violations at their red light camera intersections.

When these camera malfunction - like the camera at the EZ passes do, you have to go fight to prove you are innocent, they basically are a guilty until proven innocent device.

As long as you're not one of those horses asses that insists on running red lights, you don't get a ticket. What's so wrong with that??
In Tucson, AZ it turned the 2nd deadliest intersection in town into one of the safest. Look it up - the corner of Grant Rd. and Tanque Verde.
I live in PA and often go to MD where they have these lights. The lights change very fast and I often slam my breaks on the yellow lights not to go through the intersection. I always prepair to stop for a red. I never got a moving violation. These lights are dangerous. Instead of watching traffic at the intersection, I anticipate if is going to change instead. I consider these lights dangerous and make me nervious, especially when I'm in no situation to pay a ticket finically.

This makes sense to me since I stop at any cost when I see the yellow light. Is it just my imagination that these lights have very short yellow light times?

There are light deflecting "blockers" on the market in the form of clear diffusing shields to put over the tag and sprays that absorb the laser light so the camera only sees a glob instead of the number.

According to a criminal complaint, Mr. Elash drove through a wooden fence and into a building about 100 feet off Long Run Road about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 22. A McKeesport police officer arrived on the scene to find Mr. Elash being treated by medics. As the officer questioned him, he said, he could smell alcohol on Mr. Elash and overheard him tell medics that he had been drinking.

If all you do is sit back and bitch ,moan, and complain about these traps, they will be a part of everyday life. To get something done, the masses have to get their elected officials attention with PERSONAL messages,e-mails,letters and calls about your concerns. Petitions go in the round file because politicians know that people sign them when they are too damm lazy to speak for themselves.
