Yesterday on the news I heard Senater David Williams say that a bill was going before the house & senate this week to stop what is called double dipping, That people that had retired and drawing a large pension would not be allowed to take another job in order to draw another pay check. How will this affect the running of several people in Green County such as Simpson & Whitlock both of them are drawing pensions
Not for sure

I have not read the bill, but I would think you can not keep someone from running for public office, just because they draw a pension. You might limit the second pension. I will vote for the one who I think can do the best job and not worry about their checking account.

It would have nothing to do with a person running for a Constitutional Office. It is totally IRRELEVANT that these two guys are on a retirement plan. JEALOUSLY should be put aside and the most qualified person should get the vote. Some people make good career choices in their life; why should that be held against them if they desire to continue public service? Why not have someone with the EXPERIENCE and ABILITY to do the job? someone the County can have CONFIDENCE in? Just saying! Oh I have read the bill and it says nothing about the size of the pension, Lazy Daiesy..."large pension"...(As I wonder what we know about the amout of these guys pension - as if it is anybody's business) but the bill does say, if the person takes another state job, the retirement pay will be suspended during the employment... this only applies to State jobs...

Tim Simpson is the only true choice. Anyone else would be giving this county away to the crooks, and criminals. Its time to take your county back, and have true protection, not like what we have now.

the race would be okay if they got new deputies to help them and not the ones already on duty.some are just scared of their own shadows.

Wow, you people are blind. The sheriff now, does nothing to anyone but let them live there life. How many times has his deputys done anything to you, or he for that matter. How many speeding tickets or seat belt tickets have thay ever given, what do you think the ex state trooper will do, he will surely believe in seat belt laws. Enforce everything that has no reason what about the new texting law bet he can't wait to enforce that one when its passed, keep pushing and youll finally get what you deserve.

First off, the ex-state trooper never worked the road around here for you to have any experience with his ticket writing history. To my knowledge, he has worked the last several years fighting drug traffickers. Maybe this hits close to home or maybe not, but I think his experience and dedication would be a plus for Green County. (Only my opinion.)

I think that Simpson or Beard would both be great sheriffs for this town. I know for sure I would not give Chris Karnes my vote for. He is not dependable or trustworthy in my opinion. I think that team is gonna be sorely disappointed when the election is over!

First off, does it matter where he wrote those tickets. And how dare you even try to say or imply that i use drugs or any sort of illegal kind of substance. And I could care less what units he has been on, do you really think that green county's biggest problem is drug disterbution, alot of help that will do him. In all respect, i do like tim simpson but also know what kind of mentality most state police are given. Alot different person to serson then they are in a cop uniform.

they can't even catch burglars, they are too busy pulling over and writing speeding tickets and probable dui's and chasing 4-wheelers to protect the public

I don't know of any law enforcement agency that catches every criminal that is on the streets. And I did not know that GREEN COUNTY has ever been considered the drug and sin city of the world. I have always thought that this county is a low crime city but some seam to think that Al Capone is here running the Jerry Cross and Bubba Smith crime syndicate. I'm glad the drug task force with Tim Simpson have gotten these two of Americas most wanted off the streets.I guess I can now leave my home and not be shaking in my shoes anymore since these two deperados are off the streets.
