Are you only 17 servant?? You're pretty smart for your age (if you are, indeed, 17).
I hope and pray that my (15 year-old) son will someday be like you, by being so open to learning about God and spreading His word!!
Many blessings coming your way! ; )
Thank you, Orion! Yea, i am 17. About to start college, where I know I will need God more than any other time in my life.

Through this forum, God has shown me that I need to study more on his word though. I have been presented with questions on here about the Bible, that I did not know, and I was kind of ashamed. Though Galapagos doesn't know or beleive it, God has used him to help me and my walk with God and with Jesus.

Gods_servant... thank you also for giving me something too think about, and look up, lol. God has blessed us for a second in time as we pass here connected by thought alone.
At my age (29 lol) I keep an open mind and want to so see change for the betterment of man. I pray everynight, during the day, anytime feeling alone... I always have God to talk too. I most never ask for anything for myself when I pray. My life isn't good, but it's better than many, so I ask nothing for myself.
It is others that matter most in life. That you not only care about your family and friends, pray for them, but also all those that suffer or are in harms way.
I believe in God, but I got issues with the bible, doesn't mean I don't read it, just wonder about what some of what I read. But then again sometimes life doesn't make alot of sense either, lol.
I hope God Blesses whoever reads this and His bible too.

Amen. I hope you always know that God has you in whatever position for a reason. He won't ever abandon you. If you keep your faith in Him, you will be blessed. I understand you issues with the Bible, and you have given me something to think about as well. I still stick with my beleif on it right now, but I will pray about it, and I will pray for you. God will tell us what to beleive, if we just ask him.

Luke 11:9-10
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened."

Keep your mind that way... opened and you will be enlightened beyond beleif. The mind is the most powerful tool God gave us. I pray over time you will be one of the few who learns what the mind is able to do and accomplish to set the course of ones own life.

Research the amount one uses their brain first, I think you have an atvantnge to begin with. Learn the expansion into ones own mind further than you may know. Through mind control I have stopped addictions, control pain, remain positive always, and accept that God allows me this power.

It belongs to everyone, that was part of the teachings of Jesus, I believe, expanding ones mind too not be controled by false Gods or other men or governments for that matter. The times that Jesus walked the earth was an enlighting for man to free his mind.

Best wishes for your life, stay true to yourself. You will always have to live with yourself, no one else does.

Neil,
I, too, have learned how to use the mind as a tool to stop addictions, pain, and how to think positive. Happiness is a choice, it's all in how you choose to perceive things.

I am so happy to see that you are a believer. I wish you the very best in life and I, too, will be praying for you.

And Servant,
This forum has opened my eyes and shown me that I, too, need to learn more about the Bible so I can better explain it to people.

God is using these forums to spread His word to those searching for something better. Maybe we can join forces and spread God's love to people, and show them Jesus.:)

In the history of the world, nothing has been the catalyst of more grief, hatred, war, and crime than religion.

Religion allows a person to hate, kill, torture, or steal, while allowing him to remove himself of all blame.

Religion causes people to break the laws of ethics and morality in the name of a god.

Religion dulls the mind and weakens the senses. It makes "God did it" seem like a reasonable answer to anything at all squelching questions of why, and how, and when, and replacing these questions with repeated mantras and prayers to nobody.

The churches, which do little to serve their community, pay almost no taxes and bilk parishioners into giving away their money in exchange for an immortality that will never be granted.

Religion is ridiculous. Mythology and religion are synonymous, and none is better than another.

If you choose to ignore logic and knowledge in order to believe in an invisible magic man in the sky, or Santa Claus for that matter, you've made a ridiculous decision!

Sorry to interrupt the “atta boy and girls” club!

I agree with that and alot more of what you say and think. All are allowed to interrupt, do not be sorry for that or anything you may think.

I have major issues with the church and it's teachings. That does not make me not believe what I want too and I would hope there is a God, only no one will ever really know till they leave this world.

People need standards and comfort, if they chose the church for that, it is not wrong. What is wrong is to be led blindly without thought as way too many are these days.

I hope all have a wonderful day!!! You know I always do :)

NO! It is your own mind and it is up to you to allow God to direct it, use it, or abuse it, but it's always your choice. Another reason God is great, use the tools He gave you, that's what I believe makes one believe or not believe.

Here's one, I want immortality. I would love to live on this earth forever. Regardless of my place in life, the longer I'm here the more chances I have to help those less fortunate than me.

I have and have had almost everything I ever wanted, I believe I am one of the very few that could die happy this instance without regret and face our God, if he exsists, without remorse or fear.

I've lived my life for others more than myself. I have very little at this point in life because of the way I am. But I am loved by those whose life's I have touched, I would say I want nothing more, but that would be a lie and I try very hard to never lie.

The only thing I feel I am missing in life is a women to share it with, that would love me the way I love. But that is also something in His plans, not mine. If it happens to be, cool, if not.. than just think of all the more lifes I might touch and change.

I care way to much for others and not myself. Best part is I'm fine with that, I would and have givin more than I have, it makes me happy and that's what lifes about isn't it, being happy?

God Bless all, may His peace rest in your heart everyday and take all yours worries away.

What I would like to know is your answer to any of these questions.
1.)If you do not believe in God, why not? What did it take for you to not believe?
2.)What would it take for you to believe?
3.)Alternatively, if you are a christian, what caused you to believe?
4.)As a christian what would it take for you to not believe?
On the assumption that people may actually respond, please be civil to one another. Don't let your passion on any issue mutate into rudeness. Thank you.
1. I do believe in GOD, just not the God of the Bible.
2. All of my life, the Goddess was there to comfort and strengthen me whenever I needed Her.
Blessings to you and yours.

Do not toil to gain riches. Cease from your own understanding. Have you caused your eyes to glance at it, when it is nothing? For without fail it makes wings for itself like those of an eagle and flies away.—Prov. 23:4, 5.
To most people, the expression “the real life” conjures up an image of luxury and pleasure. One Asian news magazine notes:“Those who watch films or TV learn to desire what they see, to dream of what they might have.” Many people make the attaining of riches and status their purpose in life. Many sacrifice their youth, health, family life, and spiritual values in pursuit of these things. Few stop to think that such media images are no more than a reflection of “the spirit of the world”—the dominant pattern of thinking that influences the majority of earth’s billions and moves them to act in opposition to God’s purpose for us.(1 Cor. 2:12; Eph. 2:2) No wonder there are so many unhappy people today!—Prov. 18:11.

Galapagos, my friend, it seems that the way the brain is wired has more to do with belief than exposure growing up. I would guess you have always been a free thinker just like several others here. You can never change these peoples minds, they are fear the world too much.
