We probably won't get it because the right-wingers in state government won't want to spend the money.

How about the right-wingers in local government? Namely ... Gary Herbert who hasn't a vision beyond the length of his arm, and his advisor, Rick Fayette, who is an obstuctionist to every advancement outside his own agenda.

only obstructonist i see is mj and nopo/nobody important. u so want to be right about something u say NO to everything it out.

If you aren't the obstructionist, then you'd have no problem with providing the ROI analysis or a reason to justify eminent domain for airport expansion.

Surely, these are grounded in reason that is superior to that which has been provided for regional airport development at another location.

We'd just like to see it.

i am not a decision-maker but not as obsessed with the status as u and mj. i have no problem with doing everything legally required. unlike mj i'd have no problem lobbying state representatives to change the referendum laws. pity she doesnt see the wisdom. perhaps she just likes to complain as opposed to impacting change.

Piss on lobbying at state level.

Is it illegal to provide an ROI or a reason for eminent domain?

No. Its the moral thing to do and all the Herbert administration is proving to the public is that it is bankrupt.

u tout the high speed rail so answer have you done an roi on it? have u a clue how much it will cost or what land it might need to utilize?

u equate no roi with lack of morals and that the current adminsitration is bankrupt? i dont see it. u evidently dont disagree they meet the letter of the law yet u blame them for not meeting ur higher standard. a standard that isnt required by state law yet u and mj lack the willingness to talk to state officials about closing the loophole u deem so unfair. double standards? do as i say not as i do? who is proving their arguments as bankrupt?

i believe that you have just proven that you are the "bankrupt" entity when it comes to morals....because as you can see above in your statement "i don't see it"....

why?

because from a moral perspective it doesn't matter what you think, or what I think, or what anyone else thinks... it only matters in what God thinks....and He has given us His requirements in His 10 commandments and one of those commandments is "thous shalt not steal".....

with no ROI and with no proof of NEED...that is exactly what is happening when land is taken from people whodonot want to sell.

so now i am bankrupt because i ask about following the letter of the law. and when it isnt part of the law then suggesting u lobby the legislature. it is called being a good citizen nothing about bankrupt moral. now, u jump straight to the 10 commandments and equate it to though shalt not steal. Working to correct a flaw in the system is being a GOOD citizen who is trying to make the process better. not a citizen who cries foul and clicks there heels and does nothing to improve the process. thats where u and nopo sit. u dont want to make it better. u just what to cry what an injustice it all is...
i do agree with u one one thing. God is the only true judge.

He's going to come back with that bullshit about how the landowners are given fair market value for their land and therefore, no theft occurs.

Then he's going to recite that eminent domain is a legal process. THAT reasoning follows the old doctrine that "the King can do no wrong."

Then he's going to provide the ultimate excuse for minimalist government ... that the state doesn't require an ROI so therefore, the city has no obligation to perform an analysis.

no, i am not. i am still, however, marvel at ur ability to justify ur inactivity to work the state to require a referendum or an roi. i am not talking about anything but that. u r the one who constantly tries to put other things in the discussion. u cant see the forest for the trees of hatred.

Eminent domains amounts to what in the corporate world is a hostile takover. What justifies a hostile takeover of the real estate of private citizens? I know. You'll say "the common good" without defining what is the "good."

As for an ROI, it isn't hatred. Its common sense. What do the people get for their money? Its a simple question that remains unanswered.

and likely will remain unanswered as the "agenda" is the desired end result....not doing things in an equitable, honest and upright manner.

We're still waiting on that ROI analysis from an administration that is bankrupt. I can see how anything that suggests propriety might throw it into a moral crisis.

Why do I say that? The advice which captures the mayor's ear says something of the guiding doctrinal component which sets governing strategy. Gary Herbert's chief advisor, Rick Fayette, is engrossed with creating spin and hype in both these threads and at City Hall.

Here's how it works ... Fayette spins truths with half-truths and falsifications until only a fantasy world of his making can be recognized. That fantasy is hyped in a cultural circus where facts and reality have no value.

The administration thus can't formulate an ROI analysis by Fayette's guidelines.
