To any one out there following the pirate basketball season, did u know we are ranked #2 in the state and still haven't lost a game? Think it will keep going or will they crumble around the the negative attitude of a few?

I think they can go all the way. Just have to keep everyone together and now there's another kid with lots of talent that just moved up. It could be a year o remember for sure

They play no talented teams, aside from Batesville, that are ranked or "were" ranked. Very poor schedule as the EIAC has always been a joke in sports. 3 state championships isn't impressive. 2 by Lawrenceburg and 1 by East Central, all too long ago in football.
Gburg will either win sectional and maybe regional, but when they meet an Indy school or Muncie Central it will be over.
I like the McIntosh kid, good shooter and pretty athletic. Sellers is way too scrawny. Maybe he'll bulk up in the next 2 years. The one thing I noticed about Gburg is they are all very small from a muscular standpoint. Not sure if the school has a strength coach (Davidson used to be) but they are all way too scrawny. No excuses on "youth" either. Take a look at the kids at the schools who always contend for state titles because they get plenty of cardiovascular exercise and WEIGHTLIFTING, because it's part of their daily/weekly routine. Just saying!

Check it out ...

http://www.ihsaa.org/dnn/Sports/Boys/Basketba...

Are you aware that EIAC teams have won the Class 3 Shelbyville regional four of the last five years (Batesville - Batesville - Greensburg - Danville - Batesville), and that Indianapolis schools have participated in that regional?

Are you aware that the year Greensburg won, the EIAC was the most competitive conference in the state. EIAC conference play was the best preparation for the tournament.

So what is new for 2012? The Class 3 regional was moved to Greencastle with a realignment of sectionals that feed into it. The winner at Greensburg will have to go through the Washington (Indiana) regional ... all 128 miles and 2 hours, 46 minutes of driving time (one way).

The Class 4 regional was moved from Seymour to Shelbyville, which isn't centrally located to the sectional sites that feed into it. In fact, the winner at Evansville will travel 216 miles and 3 hours, 34 minutes (one way).

All of this driving time is supposed to be an improvement over the single class tournament Indiana once had? The state legislative bill to consider a return to the old tournament format died in committee. Bobby Cox, commissioner of the IHSAA, has promised a series of meetings to allow public input on the matter.

Might I suggest the people of Southeast Indiana voice its disapproval of the current format to school administrators and their state legislators, and ensure its message is delivered at the IHSAA meetings? Otherwise, what you have is what you'll come to live with.

Lord have mercy.

Yes we are aware. We live here. We go to the games. Our student athletes are playing. Greensburg is very proud of the pirate basketball team.

Get a life Jeff.

We drove hundreds of miles each year for AAU BB tournaments while you were making friends with your left hand (a calculator, not a clip).

How many kids have you put through high school and Coolidge Jeffery?

That should be college Jeffery?

Still excited with the great win.

If you want to talk about class moose, you have none.

Then if all are aware, Rick, why haven't YOU introduced it as a topic of discussion?

I paid taxes in support of the Greensburg school system for a number of years while I lived elsewhere and my kids attended Department of Defense (DoDEA) schools. Having never served in the military, you wouldn't know about such things, would you?

Since you're a buddy of Gary Herbert, will you arrange my refund?

I have been thinking for several days what would be an appropriate statue for you. I have found the perfect one but it would infringe on the Democratic Party icon. Besides that it shouldn't be punished to be associated with your ilk.

Oh, I'm wounded!

I've given thought to these names you provide yourself on these threads, Rick. A few weeks ago, you posted under "Visionary" until I provided a real, visionary idea for a combined regional airport facility with adjoining high-speed rail near Interstate 74. If its far-fetched, then do you think it is a coincidence that the Amtrac station and Greyhound Bus terminal in Indianapolis are co-located?

This new name you go by, "Illusion," so fits your character!

Your act is all smoke and mirrors.

1. I am not Rick
2. I liked your idea of a high-speed rail.
3. I enjoy reading some of your posts.
4. I don't like your people-bashing attitude toward our community leaders or toward other writers. I would appreciate you focusing your intelligence on those subjects that are meanigful.
5. Who is 'Visionary'?

Gee. I thought post #8 WAS meaningful. It was THEN that [Rick Fayette as] "JJ" and [Rick Fayette as] "Illusion" jumped off the insult train.

I get it ... he has license to post as he will, but when I respond, I'm therefore "people-bashing" and unfocused.
