Speaking of 'backroom productions'...

'Deep Throat' co-star Harry Reems dies at 65

http://seattletimes.com/html/entertainment/20...

[An excerpt]

Harry Reems, the male star of the 1972 cultural phenomenon "Deep Throat," which brought pornography to mainstream audiences, has died at age 65. Reems died Tuesday afternoon at the veterans' hospital in Salt Lake City, his wife, Jeanne Sterrett Reems said Wednesday. Doctors haven't determined his cause of death but Reems had multiple health issues, including pancreatic cancer, his wife said.

Reems became famous for his role in the adult-film classic "Deep Throat," which drew middle class audiences to the theater and became a forerunner of today's hardcore adult-entertainment industry.[...]

Reems was born in in New York in 1947 as Herbert Streicher. He served in the U.S. Marines before he ended up in the entertainment industry in the 1970s. He aspired to become a serious actor but was thrown in front of the camera while working on the production crew for "Deep Throat." When the original male lead didn't work out, Reems, the lighting director, stepped in.

At the 2005 premiere of a documentary about "Deep Throat" at the Sundance Film Festival, Reems told The Associated Press that the film was the first to "drop any pretense that it had educational value." [...]

The movie, an unlikely box-office sensation, became a touchstone for obscenity laws and a target for anti-smut activists. In 1976, Reems was convicted of obscenity for his role in the film and faced a potential five-year prison term. Celebrities including Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty came to Reems' defense, and the conviction was overturned. After "Deep Throat," he went on to star in dozens of adult films. "He hated, at the end, doing porn," Jeanne Reems said. "It was all he could make money doing."

In the 1980s, he left the porn industry and moved to Park City, Utah, where he eventually became a real-estate agent. In 1989, a judge placed Reems on five years' probation and ordered him to pay back taxes after pleading guilty to failing to pay income tax on $35,000 in movie earnings.[...]

Family friend Don Schenk, who knew Reems for 20 years, described him as a "nice guy," a great salesman and an avid golfer and skier. "I met him long after he left the adult film industry. The adult film industry basically destroyed him," Schenk said. "He would never talk about the salacious stuff - we always talked about how he was a survivor."

1. its at the beach that says it all!!
2. look at who all is in the so called group
3. they are well... no comment...
4. i think most of them have been barred somtime or another from the local bars from fighting
5. there has been fights there already with members of the so called group
6. most of them have a criminal drug related record (all but alan not sure about him)
7. Lou must be desperate to let them all back in and then advertise it. If you read post about the beach this clears it all up. What kind of crowd hangs there now and what kind of crowd they are and do attract.

these boys have a little talent, we shouldnt put them down. but, if they rap about "real" true life things then maybe others can relate. they are not gangters. they were not raised in harlem. they are not pimps. so why try to be that? if they talked about gburg & being raised around cornfields, & stuff like that they would be better.. just my opinion..

I have attended one of there gigs at the Beach and i have also seen them practice, record, and just freestyle. Alan is a excellent rapper and a good dude. Well i think they all are but he is the one who has the most ambition to become something bigger. Cant hate on a guy for wanting to be someone. Matt has a crazy amount of talent but he cant keep his head in the game. Smallz is the bomb. It seems like every time i hear him his skills are getting better and better. His flows and vocab is pretty tight. All n all they are pretty good and def worth taken a listen to. Alan def knows how to put on a hell of a party. As for the Beach.... fuck the beach. They are just screwing around with backroom productions just cause they know that they can. They know that they are new to the game and they are trying to make a name for themselves so they keep playing them like fools. Who the fuck is going to make someone perform on a Wednesday night? Nobody is up there except a bunch of old people. It is what it is. DO YA THING BACKROOM!!!! BRP peep this shit

Well any publicity is good publicity even if its on this dumb site. Yes we are white rappers from greensburg y'all can either hate or participate. We love doin this and will continue to regardless of what anybody thinks about us. Everybody that has anything negative to say about us obviously doesn't know any of us. We appreciate all the love and support that we are currently getting as of now. We understand that rap is not something people from this town subscribe or relate to but it's been my experience that people hate on shit they don't understand it's all good we will continue to put it down. Get on board with the movement now cuz it's only bout to get bigger... As for the haters u know where to find us....Wednesdays and Fridays live!!!!
