Jeff, try to wrap your mind around reality. As I have stated time and time again, I am not running for Mayor, and I will never be the Mayor. I don't want the gig. I am not the one with the mental problem related to self-esteem and power. He hasn't, yet.
But there's a reason that he takes his role as Gary Herbert's advisor so seriously, and vehemently defends every administrative decision. He's being a good foot soldier and marking his time to the next election. He's "lining his chips" so to say. And as long as he keeps people indifferent to matters such as GAAP, then he considers the mayoralship will be just that much easier for him.
Being a good foot-soldier. Funny you would say that, I am just a chicken-hawk.
I am a mercenary. Very loyal, and I do my job to the best of my ability.
I don't want to be Mayor, too many hours and meetings, and not enough money.
Gary is doing a good job, and I will happily support him for another term.
I am not keeping people indifferent, they already are indifferent. You've lost and you just don't know it.
I also do not vehemently defend every decision the administration makes. I vocally disagreed with a couple, but you weren't paying attention as they didn't fit your agenda.
