But there's a reason that he takes his role as Gary Herbert's advisor so seriously, and vehemently defends every administrative decision. He's being a good foot soldier and marking his time to the next election. He's "lining his chips" so to say. And as long as he keeps people indifferent to matters such as GAAP, then he considers the mayoralship will be just that much easier for him.
Jeff, try to wrap your mind around reality. As I have stated time and time again, I am not running for Mayor, and I will never be the Mayor. I don't want the gig. I am not the one with the mental problem related to self-esteem and power.

Being a good foot-soldier. Funny you would say that, I am just a chicken-hawk.

I am a mercenary. Very loyal, and I do my job to the best of my ability.

I don't want to be Mayor, too many hours and meetings, and not enough money.

Gary is doing a good job, and I will happily support him for another term.

I am not keeping people indifferent, they already are indifferent. You've lost and you just don't know it.

I also do not vehemently defend every decision the administration makes. I vocally disagreed with a couple, but you weren't paying attention as they didn't fit your agenda.

Tomas Young, Dying Iraq War Veteran, Pens 'Last Letter' To Bush, Cheney On War's 10th Anniversary

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/19/toma...

[An excerpt]

Days after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, Tomas Young, then a 22-year-old from Kansas City, Mo., made a decision repeated by many other Americans around the country: He was going to enlist in the military in hopes of getting even with the enemies who had helped coordinate the deaths of nearly 3,000 men, women and children.

Less than three years later, Young's Army service placed him not in Afghanistan -- where then-President George W. Bush had told the nation the terrorist plot had originated -- but in Iraq. On April 4, 2004, just five days into his first tour, Young's convoy was attacked by insurgents. A bullet from an AK-47 severed his spine. Another struck his knee. Young would never walk again.[...]

The incident turned Young into one of the most vocal veteran critics of the Iraq War. He has, however, saved his most powerful criticism for what he claims will be his last. Young says he'll die soon, but not before writing a letter to Bush and former Vice President Cheney on the 10th anniversary of the Iraq War.

[Quote]

I write this letter, my last letter, to you, Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. I write not because I think you grasp the terrible human and moral consequences of your lies, manipulation and thirst for wealth and power. I write this letter because, before my own death, I want to make it clear that I, and hundreds of thousands of my fellow veterans, along with millions of my fellow citizens, along with hundreds of millions more in Iraq and the Middle East, know fully who you are and what you have done. You may evade justice but in our eyes you are each guilty of egregious war crimes, of plunder and, finally, of murder, including the murder of thousands of young Americans — my fellow veterans — whose future you stole.

[End of quote]

Young goes on to attack the "cowardice" of Bush and Cheney for avoiding military service themselves, and to encourage them to "stand before the American public and the world, and in particular the Iraqi people, and beg for forgiveness."

[End of excerpt]

North Dakota Personhood Measure Passes State House

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/22/nort...

[An excerpt]

North Dakota became the first state on Friday to pass a fetal personhood amendment, which grants legal personhood rights to embryos from the moment of fertilization. The state House of Representatives voted 57 to 35 to pass the amendment, after the Senate passed the same measure last month.

The measure will now appear on the November 2014 ballot, and voters will be able to accept or reject it. If it passes, it will amend North Dakota's constitution to state that “the inalienable right to life of every human being at any stage of development must be recognized and protected.” The amendment would ban abortion in the state, without exceptions for rape, incest or life of the mother, and it could affect the legality of some forms of birth control, stem cell research and in vitro fertilization.

[End of excerpt]

What is most remarkable is that voters will be able to accept or reject it. That means both the politicians and the People have faith in the wisdom of a majority. Its too bad that Gary Herbert (and Rick Fayette's bunch) have lost their faith in regard to the airport expansion issue.

We must not let this post die. It has too many revealing facts about some morally challenged individuals. If the quest was to find the truth about the donation, a honest person would have posted the truth as soon as they where notified. If the quest was to maliciously attack the administration, then they continue the attack and or keep quite and let the doubt to continue to build. To know the facts and to stand back and continue to throw stones at a group who exist to help our community.

Self-serving mercenary,

If you're about existing "to help our community," then why don't you coordinate a local bugle corps of current and former band members? The bugle corps could, for example, affiliate with "Bugles Across America" for playing taps at the funerals of veterans, with donations accepted.

Wow Jeffery, you are not only full of s*it, you can be melodramatic.

Jean didn't reveal crap.

I posted about the comments about being a mercenary. I enjoy offending her "Christian" sensibilities. Satan won't attack Satan you know.

Jean linked to dictionary.com , whooo hooo.

Most people know what a mercenary is. Jean's descriptive adjective is only five letters....

You are a mercenary too, you are just the one that does the deed without payment (rhymes with more). Remember that question I keep asking in another thread that no one wants to answer?

Is that the best you have bullwinkle?

No one that matters pays any attention to Jean and her repetitious rants on Topix, or you. You are both insignificant except in your own minds.

The only person who bought into Jean's nonsense was Councilman Wenning. Jean was his campaign chair and puppetmaster, and he ran on her anti-port platform. He embraced the extreme right wing tea baggers, and HE LOST! The voters got it right!

Jeff, why don't you move to Greensburg and run for office. Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing you on election night looking at that big screen at the courthouse realizing you lost. Come on big boy. Make that move.

You hope you can cause problems for me and the incumbent Republicans. All you got is character assassination. But that doesn't scare mercenaries big boy.

You truly are nobody important to me, although you tend to thrive on attention in the forum when you get it. Nuts, spam, clueless would be a better name for you...

Why would I want to cause problems for incumbents? Doesn't make sense.

It is better stated as "cause problems for the status quo." Status quo includes those non-elected people who manipulate spineless government officials, which includes YOU as Gary Herbert's advisor.

And another thing, I've always wondered who pays you to coach Herbert in the way another will have him to take, and for you to run interference in these threads....

I don't know Rick, stating you don't want the job because it doesn't pay well isn't a very convincing argument. Your business is obviously failing. You can no longer offer your employees dependable hours, taken vacation and insurance away, and expect your employees (some have 10 plus years there)to collect unemployment during long lay off periods. I would say a regular paycheck from the city would be a welcome sight. Or, you could spend less time in boards and social media and concentrate on saving your business and getting work lined up for the men and women you employ. Or, are you still posting inappropriate material on your website and fear being exposed again? Is there a criminal history you are hiding behind? What is the real reason you won't run?
