GREENSBURG, Ind.(WISH)- Multiple agencies in Greensburg are searching for a small, private plane that reportedly crashed Sunday night.

The Greensburg Municipal Airport manager says he received a report that a small, private, single engine plane had crashed south of the airport.

The Decatur County Sheriff's Department first heard the report from a civilian who says he thought he saw a plane crash.

At 6:30 p.m. the FAA called Greensburg officials to see if they were looking for a downed plane.

The pilot of the plane was communicating with flight controllers at the Indianapolis International Airport when they lost contact. The plane was two miles south of the airport in Greensburg.

Officials have not said how many people are believed to be on board.

The Greensburg Fire Department, Greensburg Police Department, and the Decatur County Sheriff's Department are currently searching the area for the plane.

Nothing has been discovered yet.

Indiana State Police wanted to launch a helicopter for the search, but due to weather conditions in the area they will be unable to.

Crews are searching a grid south of the airport on ATVs. There are six teams made up of six to eight people searching the area.

At this point, officials know the plane was heading back to Greensburg and say that those on board may be from the area.

Amen Dale and Billy. People who sit behind their computer and trash others have no heart. My heart goes out to the Horan and Butz families. They were good friends of mine and very good people. May God be with them and every one involved.

Well well well if NEWS if your info is correct I do not believe anyone deserves to for, however if it is that couple they have always been snobby, turned noses up in air, so maybe if it was them it was karma. People should not look down or be mean to others it will come back to haunt you someday. Let this be a lesson. Be nice and do not act snobbish to others.
If you believe in Karma so much then you should know that talking ill of the deceased will get you no where. You should be ashamed of yourself. Regardless of how they were on this earth, people have lost ones they loved and depended on. Have some respect.
