Are there a lot of handyman types working in town? I was thinking of giving it a go on my own, but was being pushed away from doing that because of concerns that there were too many around Greensburg. I'd appreciate some input on this matter.

I can roof, frame, doors windows, side, build decks, small plumbing, fix satellite cable problems, build shelves, stairs, install lights, ceiling fans, outlets. Paint. A little bit of everything. I'd market myself as a small jobs guy and do basically whatever. There are a lot of older people who could use someone to do things as small as clean up their yard. I'm not above anything. Just think it would be something good to do on the side that would give me a chance to meet the people around town as I am not a Greensburg lifer.

Would you be 'insured'? Would you charge by the hour or by the job? How much?

1) yes
2) I'd charge by the project based on time and material. It would have to be on a per job basis since every situation is unique.

When you say on the side does this mean you are employed? I
do hire for my property however i want to see papers of insured and not by their employer.
May be helpful if you give your distance from Greensburg.

I live in Burney. I would carry my own insurance. I say on the side because I wasn't sure how much work I could get or how much I could make. Wasn't sure if that would be my only job.
