Yes we do promote Jesus and christianity. And may God forgive you for trying to bury his son. You already know you can't do that...

That's what is wrong with this country that was founded on the belief in God. We need to remember this. This is one of the reasons why this country is going down the "toilet" because they want to take God out of everything. If we don't stand for something, we will fall for everything!!!

This is an excellent example of political correctness out of control. This is a meeting of represenatives elected by a majority vote. THEY REPRESENT THE MAJORITY.If they choose to pray before a meeting be glad they have some kind of faith. Jesus is recognized by more than one religion. He is a figure of love and forgiveness, why would anyone be offended by the mention of his name. I assure you there are much more important issues to protest.

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.(John 16:24)

Although I have never attended a meeting of the Forsyth County Commissioners I would guess that there is very little joy among those who attend and take part. Praying outside the name of Jesus Christ is in vain...why pray at all?

So why can't you pray in whatever sort of setting you are in? And while you at it,pray in Jesus' name too...Everybody is trying to take Jesus out of everything. We will reap what we sow...

It's pretty simple, this country was built on Christianity. Why are we still arguing this over 200 yrs later?

Why is there need for ANY type of prayer? Let alone a prayer to a certain deity. It's counter productive and offensive to anyone not of that faith that the prayer is given in.

If we added up all of the time spent "praying", I am sure it would add up to time that the real issues being discussed could use.

If the commission needs praying for, then do it in the church on Sunday. Surely the hundreds of churches in the area are up for the job.

Let's not forget the history of religion and government. Our ancestors fled Europe because of religious persecution. Don't forget about the Salem Witch Trials.

For a look at government run by religion in today's time. All we have to do is have a good look at the middle east. Yikes!

Keep religion out of government. No prayers in government meetings.

Why is everyone worried about minorities!? The other religions only make up 5% of the the United States population. The other 95% believe in Christianity! God is in control!!!

just a question...

If you allow folks of all religions to offer the opening prayer, would you allow a person from say a Satanic church to offer the opening prayer?

Remember, freedom of speech applies to everyone, not just the ones you agree with.

I feel that anytime you tell anyone that they cannot pray to their God or diety, then you are violating the first ammendment. You are denying me my freedom of speech anytime you deny me the right to pray in any location I so choose.

There is such a fervor over "Seperation of church and state". That phrase appears nowhere in the constitution. What it does say is that "The government shall not establish a religion." And any judge who rules that it is against the law to pray anywhere and makes a ruling that you cannot pray in schools or other public buildings is not only violating the constitution but is also using a governmental power that according to the constitutopm they do not have. Their power is to enforce laws not make them.

I am so sick and tired of hearing people discuss doing away with prayer. They hit us where it hurts the most by not letting our children pray in school and now they want to take it away from our government offices.

How many time do we need to repeat that this country was built on "In God We Trust"! This country is in turmoil because too many non-believers have convinced some bleeding heart liberal that they are being picked on. Wah Wah Wah..... move to the middle of nowhere and suffer without God on your own. Leave us who believe to worship as our forfathers did when this was agreat nation!!!

I was reared to believe that this country was built on the beliefs of our forefathers (In God, We Trust) and we keep trying to remove God out of everything and conform to others. I think prayer should be allowed, and those that are offended, remain outside until it's over. We have become too acceptable of everything, and not taking a stand for anything.

I personally believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior, and i want to be allowed to pray in his name, but, this is my decision. I think others should be allowed a place to worship whom they want wherever they want, as for me and my house, we will worship the lord Jesus.

This kind of nonsense is what is resulting in our youth giving up on religion and in large numbers. As one of the other commentators stated, the people of Forsyth County
voted these commissioners into office and I would venture to say that an overwhelming
majority of these voters are of the Christian faith. Ergo, the commissioners are merely
carrying out the wishes of their constituents. I THINK the majority still holds sway, even
though the ACLU is doing everything it can to take God out of everything and every place.

If Christianity is so great then why are the prisons filled with Christians?

Why is the birth rate of teens much higher in the Bible belt?

Why are Christians and Jews more likely to divorce then Atheists and Agnostics?

Why are conservative Christians more likely to purchase porn?

Look up the statistics on your religion.

It is so sad that it has come to this in our country. First they took God and prayer out of school, and looked what happened. And they're slowly removing God from everything else. It's ironic how people kick God out of everything until they need Him and then they beg for help. Wake up people.

This country was founded on the Christian faith. Prayer was taken out of our schools and you see where that has led to. This country is in sad shape and in my opinion it is because we have turned our back on Him. Wake up America. If you go to a place that honors Jesus Christ and you don't like it, leave. Don't let a handful of people dictate what the majority should or should not do.

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Cancer

Today's New Moon in your sixth house reminds you not to neglect your health or general well-being. It's the ideal time to arrange a check-up with your doctor or dentist, or to follow up a medical query. Cancerians love yummy food, and the festive season is hardly the best time to start a diet, but you still might want to monitor your calorie intake.
