considering the area, probably black. I can see the headlines now...they shot because he was black!

Do people in Greensboro think the police there go around unarmed? Do they have some sort of odd impression that they are not going to get shot if they threaten the officer or the public?

Agreed...why do so many turn these headlines into a channel for racist, hate-filled comments? Someone died. A mom lost a son, sister lost a brother, child lost a father. Someone had to shoot someone to protect themselves. Tragic situation for all.

Blacks are NOT humans and don't live by human standards. They don't understand how to live like humans. Give them all the wellfare, free homes, free food, free telephone, free computer, free cars, and free everything else and they still will NOT be human.

I wonder if the dude that charged the police was under the influence? Especially since the taser had no impact?
Prayers to all involved...
And many prayers for Tom (chicago, IL)...He illustrates what is wrong with society. Narrow minded people that view other people as non-humans. That's the starting point in allowing yourself to be able to harm or kill another deem them non-human and you can do what you wish without guilt. Tom you won't survive long yourself with that attitude.

People who don't know that blacks are NOT human have your heads in the sand. I'm just stating FACTS. We are keeping these people in food and a place to live and they don't and will not handle their lives in a civilized human being. Facts stated!!!! They are destroying this country everywhere.

Thank goodness that more and more human beings are becoming aware of how evil blacks are. Blacks do not have the ability to charge their criminal nature. They are born criminals

Tom, you are pathetic. I hope your Chicago "address" is correct because you would be a disgrace to most of us in the South. Being black or white or any other color does not determine any of the things you mentioned in your email. In fact, I have taught in two areas that have predominantly white populations. There were just as many deadbeat whites there who had rather sit with their hands out begging for the rest of us working folks to support them with all that you named as there were deadbeat blacks in the areas I taught that were predominantly black. And all it takes is reading the articles discussed on Topix to know that there are just as many whites as there are Hispanics or blacks that commit heinous crimes. But, don't worry, as long as there are racist idiots like yourself, the racism you'd be the first to criticize won't die out. You belong right up there with three of the most racist people in the world: Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Jeremiah Alvesta Wright, Jr. Aren't you proud of yourself? lol

I am glad the officers involved in this situation were not seriously hurt, and I am glad that they shot someone in order to protect themselves. They do a thankless job every day, and they deserve our support and praise. Those who constantly berate them for protecting themselves should be ashamed. I hope these officers continue to do as fine a job as they did early this morning. I, for one, appreciate everyone of them.

Jules, while I agree with you that these headlines should not be turned into a channel for racist, hate-filled comments, I respectfully disagree with anything that implies pity for the man who was shot. He knew better than to attack an officer, he helped create the situation that put himself and others in danger, and he had no business doing any of it. Yes, he certainly was someone's son, maybe someone's brother, or maybe someone's father. But all of those positions should have made him want to NOT do any of the things that caused him to get shot. His doing what he did showed nothing but disrespect and a total lack of caring about anyone else but himself. And that includes anyone who might have been a mom, sister, brother, father, or friend to him. He certainly did not care about putting the lives of the officers in danger. And, quite frankly, they are the ones that I care about.

I agree with you. People who put themselves in the position this man did can only expect the outcome to be a bad one. The officers were ok, and thank God for that. I do feel bad for his family. Coming from a home where my brother was out doing "stupid" things, I was always so worried about getting that late night call that nobody wants to get. My mom, dad, and I have always been good, law abiding citizens and thankfully my brother came around before his bad decisions got him where this guy's bad decisions got him.
