Officer Cherry Fired by Greensboro Police Department

Officer Charles Cherry was fired from the Greensboro Police Department on Monday afternoon.

I'm shocked out of all these officers, Reyes is the only one that should have been fired. He hasnt been an officer long enough to be making complaints on other officers much less the department. The other officers had years invested with the department and were all very well respected. What is even more of a shame is that the officers that were fired WAS NOT the problems with the department. Have we forgot about Hinson, Fulmore, Wallace... Even with a new Chief the Greensboro Police Department with never be as good as other departments.....

Isn't this the sickest situation we have ever seen.
Blacks can't get along in their jobs. They can't even appreciate having a job in these times when others really need a job. Since they can't get along with their fellow officers and staff they are a danger to other offices and to the citizens of Greensboro. What good are they on the job when they are mad all the time, not comfortable on the job, and full of hate. What a disgrace to the city of Greensboro. Looks like the chief and city manager does not have the balls to fix this mess.

There is no corruption in the Greensboro Police Department. The baseless grievances that were filed by Mr. Cherry were nothing more than an effort to strengthen the already extremely weak EEOC lawsuit filed by the 39 minority officers. Unfortunately (for Cherry and the other 38) what he has done has caused the imminent failure of the lawsuit. Ask many of the officers actually on the lawsuit and they will tell you Cherry needed to go because of the frivilous grievances he was filing (for himself and other minority officers) and the negative attention he was bringing on the original EEOC lawsuit. Good ridance to Cherry, Pryor, and Blake!

I agree that Reyes should have been fired, and everything you said about him. But, the other officers were NOT all very well respected. Cherry had his day when he was respected, but not in a long time. Blake and Pryor were never very well respected.

I can agree that we need to look at the additional problems (from the past) you mentioned to really fix the problems in the department.

Blacks have no intention in getting along, this is the way they get attention. They want to act like spoiled brats. If blacks didn't talk about race they wouldn't have anything to talk about, that is all they know. Their attention span is very short.
Keep it up, everyone is on to your lack of abilities. Oh, they do something else, they know about crime, they are good at crime.

Well, it's about time that GPD terminated this dysfunctional police officer.! What's really amazing to me is that when most white police officers are terminated due to CORRUPTION OR MISCONDUCT IN OFFICE they don't run to the US EEOC or the US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE.! Granted, you might have a few white police officers who feel they were discriminated against and head off to the EEOC but MOST WHITE POLICE OFFICERS will not play the race card.! If you look back at the history of the EEOC you will learn that this federal agency was discovered in large part due to the CIVIL RIGHTS ACTS of 1964, Since 1964, almost all the complainants who have used this agency have been non-white.! If you look at the staff who make up this federal agency it's well over 90 percent non-white.! EQUAL EMPLOYMENT is the wrong title to use with this federal agency. It should be
something along the lines like : BEOC ! BLACK EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION.!

It is officers like this that make our career and profession lack good honest people. Fire the rest of these bastards. Im sorry but everything these black men are involved in gets messed up somehow. Its never their fault. GPD and the city fired DAVID WRAY and got a black CHIEF and these black officers still pulled the race card. I wish these black would come work for me in a private industry they wouldn't last no time"YOUR FIRED" is all they would hear at my business when that card was thrown.

I grew up with Charles Cherry and i totally disagree...He really needs to take action with the Greensboro Police Department... I work with a Town also and I know from personal experience how a Department can become corrupt... I will be Praying for this situation....IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS

no seriously, it isn't that funny when you have almost 40 officers trying to sue and use(steal) my tax money on false claims that they were discriminated against because they at some point got their feelings hurt. they are going to have a hard time saying that they were denied promotions seeing that most of them were promoted to higher ranking positions..i know that they have had the idea that when something does not go the way they want or when they are not qualified enough it is the evil MAN that is holding them down idea brainwashed into their head at a very young age but come on..it makes all of the other outstanding gpd officers(black or white) who do that job(above and beyond) on little pay look bad when they as a department are outstanding.
even officers get greedy and when a few convince their buddys how much money they can get by stabbing their brothers in the back it should be handled appropriately.

if the summer injustice league and who ever these pulpit forum groups are would spend half of their energy on working with the police by fighting all of the drugs and crime in their own neighborhood or even family, then it would make greensboro a better place. all they are doing is showing their children that it pays to be a worthless blood-sucking leech on society and that every one owes u something because of skin color...life is not fair..I WAS DIRT POOR GROWING UP AND HAD TO WORK EXTRA HARD FOR EVERYTHING I EVER OWNED, AND IT MADE ME A MAN SO SUCK IT UP .. its hard to find the hard working americans anymore .. besides it may make you feel better to know that you actually deserve something that you were given-LIKE YOUR JOB!!!!
