Nampa man pleads guilty to lewd conduct

CALDWELL — A Nampa man accused of inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl at the Nampa Recreation Center in June pleaded guilty to his charge Thursday.

Harold Rutledge, 39, had pleaded not guilty in July. His sentencing will come at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 23 before 3rd District Judge Renae Hoff.

Officials said Rutledge visited the Rec Center June 14 with the intent to have inappropriate sexual contact with underage girls. An 11-year old girl told police that Rutledge touched her while she swam and held on to her ankle when she tried to get out of the water.

According to court records, the girl told police she was swimming when Rutledge began touching her, grabbing her around the waist and placing his hands behind her back and legs as she was floating on her back. Reports indicated he told the girl, "I could have just kissed you."
