I am sickened by the way the County and law enforcement has handled this puppy mill case. The man in this case was charged with animal cruelty only a few yrs ago and was not to have anymore dogs. How many more animals is he going to be allowed to abuse?????? The Humane Society did their job seized the abused animals and could have put them in loving homes where they should be now! Instead the county law enforcement made a 'strange' decision to grant the vet who is THE PUPPY MILLERS vet custody?????? By all rights the Humane Society should have been the ones to hold the animals until homes could be found. This is a ridiculous and sad example of what can go wrong when it comes to dealing with puppy mills! Give the Humane Society the animals, let them find homes as they first TIRED to do. These poor animals have been caged, ignored, and abused enough!!! This story is giving a backwoods appearance of your county! Give them to the Humane Society and prosecute the puppy millers to the fullest extent of the law!!!!!

It seems to me that the only backwoods county represented is the one that took the animals to begin with. You should have been at the fairgrounds to see the people who were running the show. Many did not look professional at all. If this humane society thinks that they want to continue helping the animals, they need to get a little better organized and handle their business in a professional manner.

Shame on you for critisizing the appearance of people trying to save abused animals O Starr. Maybe you should check yourself. It doesn't matter what you look like it's whats in your heart. In addition, to my understanding the organization has all kinds of people supporting them. So...check yourself. Go do it right now.

I was referring to the way the building and puppies looked. They wanted to claim that there were no trays to catch urine and waste on the Fairs property. I personally saw the animals in pet taxis. They had been in those cages for 5 days before the Fairs vet got there to take the dogs away. There were mommas and babies in a pet taxi with no bottom that had waste standing. Want to get technical, this situation alone can cause an animal to get cryptosporidium infection.

The Fairs' vet should have his license revoked! |

I am still wondering why the so 'family vet' didn't notice the problems with the animals if they were taken 'care of'. If the county legals didn't want the humane society to keep the animals they should have given custody to an IMPARTIAL vet. Something is not right with this matter! The Fair's vet is hardly impartial and does not notice neglect! These animals are being treated like a furniture..they are living creatures that deserve to be given to those that will love them..not use and abuse them. It's 2007 and even in that county animal abuse is illegal!

and btw I live in Shelby County TN...where animal breeding in this backwoods manner IS ILLEGAL and no law enforcement, judge or VET stand behind it. The animals are removed, placed in loving homes and abusers prosecuted...now can the Obion Cty officals and other do the same??????

If there were truely problems he would have found them.
Dr. Page is an Auburn Veterinary alumnus that has practiced in northwest Tennessee for over 25 years. His interest in the canine parvovirus came in the late seventies when the parvovirus was literally epidemic among the dog population with no cure available. Page was seeing the massive dog loss in his practice from the parvovirus and frustrated by the helplessness of the epidemic, decided to investigate. As a result of this research a vaccine was developed by Dr. Page and put into production. It was the first effective canine parvovirus vaccine on the market and Page was producing the vaccine from his Tennessee state regulated laboratory…and saving his patients. As with most viruses a few short years later, the virus mutated rendering the original vaccine ineffective except to its original virus strain. Page again approached the virus' mutations…and developed NEOPAR®. ... Dr. Page continues to practice at his NW Tennessee Veterinary Services clinic in Dresden, TN and oversees NEOTECH, LLC his federally licensed laboratory that produces NEOPAR®. Considered by Pet Professionals to be one of the nation's leading authorities in canine pediatric health and kennel practices, Dr. Page maintains an active lecture schedule. He is currently involved in conducting an educational lecture series in conjunction with America's Pet Registry of Harvey, AR; a series of lectures to educate and to produce the healthiest and the best dogs and puppies. Dr. Page maintains an advisory position with many of the nation's show and pet registration organizations, national canine health tracking and service dog institutions. |

Nice credentials Dr Page has...too bad he didn't notice the dogs were neglected/abused but the Sheriff and Dr.Martin did.

As the court stated, justice was served. Dr. Page is to check on the animals every 60 days for the next 6 months and then the case will be dismissed. If there were truely problems, do you think with this many people involved the judge would have made this decision, or the D.A. would make that recommediation to start with?

Everyone is well aware of what the court stated ostarr. The media reported, the general public saw and read. This was not their first offense. The court ruled and if you haven't figured it out by now, public opinion does not agree justice was served. |

There are always two sides to every story. I have not heard any discussion regarding how a convicted felon obtains a humane society status, illegally seizes and then when caught returns most of the dogs in question. Not all of them! Some of those dogs just "disappeared". Where did they go??
There is criminal activity involved here and why isn't anyone investigating that. |

From news reports, the HS was not the only people who had the dogs. The court ordered they turn the dogs over to a vet. When someone is caught for the second time abusing dogs, neglecting dogs and running a filthy puppy mill, but allowed to skate through the charges by order of a judge and supported by a vet..I agree something is terribly WRONG!

PLEASE READ
I have been working on the Fairs puppy mill in Tn. These people know what they are doing. They had a place in Obion Co. that was busted in 2004 in Dyer Co. and moved to Obion Co. and was arrested there in 2006. I have tried all the humane societies, the aspca, Peta, and the USDA ( they are the ones who issue licenses) which these people DO NOT HAVE!!! I have heard the stories of how everything ws done right. Yet, they got off both times. Someone was pd off. And I know who too. After what I have tried I realized that as I was told by higher authorities that it has to go thru local gov. HOW CAN IT WHEN THEY ARE SO CORRRUPT AND GET PAY OFFS? How can you fight it? Beleive me I have tried. I found thier place in Obion Co. Go there. They will not let you see the dogs. It is a tin shack and the dogs are in the woods. They do own a very expensive home tho somewhere. And now they are moving into Ky. Please if anyone can help me to get these people shut down once and for all... let me know. Talk to Dyer and Gibson Co. Humane Societies. Spread the word. DO NOT ASSOCIATE ANY WAY WITH JAMES AND MARY JO FAIR. Help me stop these puppy mills. |

O star you are nuts and must be part of their family. I have seen your comments and remarks about the vet before. I don't know who you are but I know what I have seen and what I know. YOU ARE WRONG OR RELATED to these people. The vet was their vet. The humane society called in a vet from Atlanta. His report was much different. I know the details too and I also know that you take up for these people. Why? I have been there. Yes to the tin shack and the woods down in the holler's. They hide and won't let you or anyone see the dogs. Now they have set up in Ky. The local authorities in Dyer and Obion Co. are corrupt and were pd. off. You really p me off. Are you related? You have to be!!!! I have so much info and you cannot dispute it. So anthing you have to say I can rebut. These people need to be shut down. Maybe Ky. can do it. Can't here. It all boils down to The State Att. Gen. is good friends with the judge and the Fairs'. There was a payoff and you can't get around that! Anyone who doubts this go see their place. Do you know where it is OFFSTAR? I do and will tell everyone I can. Obion Co. Coming from the lake, take backroad S. Bluff. Watch for ELBRIDGE-MINNICK RD. Take a left and it is just down the road on the right. Two tin shacks together. Son lives there. But they won't let you see the dogs. So there OFFSTAR what else do you have to say? Cause I have an answer for it all. |
|
OFFSTAR. I have seen this on another forum too. Guess you must be the vet. OR related as I said before. A vet was called in from Atlanta. An impartial vet. Hello. It never came to that. The pay off happened too quick. I don't give a DAM what his credentials are. As far as I am concerned he in nothing. If a vet would do something like this he is not working for the animal. So it is my goal to get you to shut the hell up. I have been there and know a lot. You are wrong and must be EITHER IN ON IT OR RELATED. So you better go to another forum cause I am hell bent on getting these people shut down!!!!!!!!!! |
|
Seems like you know a lot of medical terms there OFFSTARR. Mmmm.... maybe you are the vet! |
|
|
where you been offstar? Seems the same thing happened before on a forum. You disappeared. Why?
