urs truly, you are a very selfish person sounds to me. The shelter has sent over 230 puppies to other states for adoption. And prob another 100 adult dogs just in the past year alone. I guess you would rather have them running loose in Greenfield. AND 90% of these dogs came from Greenfield. Sounds to me like you should be more worried about gettin a spay and neuter law passed here instead of what the shelter looks like. I GOT A IDEA. How about you volunteering to spend a few Saturdays working at the shelter. Cause I can bet a $100 you haven't volunteered at a local food bank or a soup kitchen. Oh and I'll put my name on here cause I hide behind a ID name..... Executive Administrator for Karin 4 Kritters ( MICHAEL STOUT )

urs truly, You need to learn how to spell before you start putting crap on here for educated people to read. Just so you know, those who help animals also help other people. As for the previous shelter looking bad, I can name several places in town that are much worse. Take a look at the house across from Greenfield Family Medicine and next door to the beauty shop and two doors from First State Bank. Now that is an eyesore and should be cleaned up. Maybe you live there.

where is your animal shelter now located, please?
Does not matter

Maybe if the town did a better job at spay/neuter (not the government, the pet owners), and if people in general took more responsibility for their pets, there wouldn't be a need for an animal shelter at all.
If someone has a rundown property making the town look bad, that's the property owner's problem. If a town does such a poor job of taking care of their animals that an extensive shelter is required, that's a town issue. It's not a dog or shelter issue. And the best way to deal with a problem is put it right in the middle of plain sight.

I would like to respond to URS Truly's comments. Every person has a cause that is near and dear to their heart. For some people it is animals. I give to all charities, not just animals. Everyone has that choice, so don't knock ours. Unfortunately, in our society today, animals have become a disposable product and people think nothing about throwing them away. There are so many agencies out there that do help humans in need and very few to help our 4 legged friends. Animals became dependent on us a long time ago because we as a human race domesticated them and they learned to depend on us for their needs. If we had stricter laws in this country for spaying and neutering as well as charging people for dumping and neglecting their animals we would not have such an extreme problem. And yes, we have a problem right here in Greenfield and Weakley County. Presently, there are 3 shelters in Weakley County alone and they are full and every day getting more and more intakes.
You were fussing about the shelter looking bad, but loook around Greenfield, we can make lists. We had a battle already with the city of Greenfield over this and still there are alot of other eyesores in Greenfield, look at front street. It makes you wonder if we are being pinpointed for some reason??We have moved and plan to clean the old site up soon, but caring for the dogs come first. The people that run the shelter all have fulltime jobs and families and still give time and money to the shelter dogs. We work continually to try to raise funds and finds ways to help more dogs.If you spend even half the time helping humans as I do animals then they are fortunate to have your help.I hope you are not one of these people that like to spout off about what you do and don't do a thing, then that would be sad!! But, please don't knock what you don't know. The cost for caring for these dogs does not come out of your pocket, the city or states pocket. We are not funded by anything other than fundraising, and private donations. We have alot of people that give regularly because they love animals and want to help. So, please keep your negative comments about our shelter to yourself because we expect nothing from you nor are we asking for your help. But, I ask one thing of you, remember when you are caring for "humans", there are alot out there that are able to work, that use the system because its easier. I don't begrudge anyone of help if really needed and give regularly all the time, but animals don't know how to work the system , if they don't eat, they starve, if they don't have care, they die. They can't go somewhere and say, I am hungry, can you help or I have no place to stay can you help??
They have to depend on us few!!

I believe before I voiced my opinion on a public forum, I would learn some proper grammar and maybe even how to spell!!

This is supposedly a public forum, so I guess I can write a book if I care to!! If you don't like it, don't read it! Also, I don't hide behide a fake name. I stand behind what I say! If you are afraid to put your name on something, then why even comment.

Since I am one of the ones who run it, then you are diecting that at me. You don't know me, so until you do, then shut up.
I shovel alot of shit, dogshit, that is, obviously I don't think I am to good to do that.
Why don't you come on down and volunteer, instead of wasting your time running your mouth about people you don't know.
I work hard for what I have. Always have and always will. then any free time I have, I spend at the shelter. Until you know me, don't talk about me.
I am getting too old to deal with petty minded people like you. There is alot more important things in life then you spouting trash talk about us.But, afew years ago, I would have chewed you up and spit you out. So, if you have something to say about me and the other people who volunteer to help these dogs, then keep it to your self because we unlike you, don't have time for it. We do better things with our lives and time than run down people we don't know a thing about.

There is nothing wrong with the animal shelter in greenfield. The shelter provides these dogs and puppies shelter food fresh water and care. I would much rather feed a animal then a person that can get off there lazy butts, get a job, and feed them selfs. Maybe they should spend money they do get on food and care for themselves instead of drinking, smoking, and doing drugs. I don't know all of the people that runs the shelter but I know a few of them people and they are good nice people. So why don't yall stop running yalls mouth about the shelter and the people that runs it and worry about your self and get a life.

Some of them dags wuz bornded ugly. You couldn't beat'em that bad with a tire iron. Don't be mad cuz your pound only has dumb ones. All the good dags in gfield were sold to scientists a year ago to test mascara and tooth paste on.
