So, where is the link for the auctions? Were the auctions for dealers only, or were they open to the public? This appears to just be an advertisement for a mobile home dealer, instead of a news story. Are Oklahomans really that apathetic to 'real' news? The longer I live here, the more I believe that's true.. at least from the content in the local media (national as well, but whatever).

At least we can still get a decent forecast of the weather, on any network we choose.

Do they come with used tires already on the roof or do you have to request them?

I think they also come with tickets to the Superdome, a free HELP sign to put on the roof, and a pair of wire cutters so you can cut communication lines during a thunderstorm.

Stupid government workers *NOT* included.

Can't speak for the mobile homes, but on the travel trailers, buyers beware. Hope they are performing LP gas checks on the travel trailers before they turn a customer loose with one. If you read on the FEMA website, the travel trailers are not to be used as temporary housing, and when you are camping, that is your home away from home. Plus, if there is a problem, most dealers will not work on FEMA units due to being scared of taking liability for any future problems that may occur.

I would be curious as to the testing that was done on the units for formaldehyde contamination. I personally have tested numerous units owned by FEMA and all of them tested at higher levels for formaledhyde contamination than the FEMA standards of less than 16 parts per billion call for. FEMA needs to be dismantled. They pay over a billion dollars for these units. Allow the manufactureres to import the construction materials from China utilizing the highly unsafe urea formaldehyde. After numerous people get sick FEMA pulls the genral public from the trailers. Then FEMA sits on the units for several years paying approx $1,000/unit/year to store them. After a few years they ignore the fact that the trailers remain contaminated and sell them to their friends in very large lots(1,000-20,000 trailers minimum) for approx $1,000/unit. These cronies are now reslling the contaminated trailers for 4 to seven times the purchase price knowing full well the trailers do not meet the FEMA air quality requirements. As if this isnt bad enough, FEMA has also issued a Billion dollar plus contract to construct new trailers with no proven plan to resolve the formaldehyde contamination issue in the new trailers.

All trailers are made with formaldihyde. If you air them out long enough, the smell goes away. My husband worked with trailers for a long time. We've owned trailers... never had an issue once aired out...

I would buy one if the price was good and throw it out on our 10 acres, and rent/ or sell my site built house. I have a 900ft^2 house it is still way to expensive to own @ $650/month.

Travel trailers are NOT built with formaldehyde anymore. They don't have the "burn your eyes" smell when they are new now. They stopped using that stuff when the FEMA thing came about. Another thing people aren't thinking about on these FEMA trailers is that they have been sitting in a field for 5 years with ZERO maintenance!!! The travel trailers with rubber roofs are GUARANTEED to be leaking! Its not possible to sit a rubber roof out in the weather for 5 years unmaintained and not have a leak!

How can I help my Homeless Friend by getting him any kind of trailer so he can live like a human being instead of in a tin shed boiling in the summer at 110 degrees and freezing in the winter?
