i was at the jail when she got into an Element! she and a male got in and drove down 38 to state road 3 where we was behind them the whole time! no need for a police escort..they were prob scared since she already took one out! Channel 8 helicopter was above us the whole time as they drove out of town! Cameras were rolling and we were better than the poparrrrraaaaazzzzziiiiii! I feel Saunders taught her well! Way to set an example in New Castle!

This woman is a real piece of s!?#. Leaving the scene of a fatality shouldn't be a class c felony it should be a class a felony . This woman took someones life and she will be lucky to get 2 years. This system is really messed up. The only thing that would make it right would be if she did society a favor and gave herself the death penalty.

No actually I'm not!!! What I am is a parent who can't imagine what this family is going through. Obviously if you were a parent you would understand that. It doesn't matter if he was a cop or a homeless man he was a human being. If she would have stopped after hitting him and if she hadn't been under the influence then all this would have been is an unfortunate accident. The minute she decided to hit the accelerator and keep going she became a murderer, it's that simple and she should have to pay for her actions.

do not worry. if she is prominent in the community, the she has good buddies such as saunders. so there is a link. they all stick togather and vote togather in any crisis. then help each other get the breaks.

She's a very selfish woman. And a murderer.

In Indiana,we consider such aforementioned traits from our prominent citizens to be a virtue. We are very stupid people.

I get your point, like the parents of the 3 motorcyclists who were struck down by the repeat offender drunken metro police officer who instead of helping his victims read them the riot act while bleeding in the gutter.

Been saying that for years and years.. Except you don't have to be prominent in Indiana. The dude who hit the little girl in Evansville a few years ago, comes to mind.. He didn't even turn himself in, they had to catch him. His excuse..worked too many hours that day...his punishment? Minimal.. Be driving and back on the street in no time.. The teens, last year in Indy who drove into a childcare building almost killing numerous toddlers.. here again..minimal..be out and driving again in a few years.. some already are.. This is a daily Indiana occurrence.. Little punishment, little deterrence.. And if your drunk? You get numerous defense options that are "built into the law".

No Bill...she feels the same way many of us do.. the pos who killed a family friend on SR39, driving drunk in an Hvac truck gets less than 5 years!! And his license back in 3??? With previous DUI's?? He's just one of many.. Happens daily throughout the state in our great court system... Only justice is in civil court!!

I guess you haven't made the connection as to who her attorney is....he dabbles in surrogacy adoptions, some of them questionable.

Well .What if you was going down the road in the middle of the night. And have 2 fifteen month old twins in the car with you.And a 4 year old autism boy.She was trying to calm him down. And who would have dreamed three copes was out riding bicycles in the middle if the night. At 12:30 am in the morning.Ilive in anderson. And people ride bikes in the dark and you can hardly see them.I really feel bad for the cop and his family. He had two young kids.BUT DON'T YOU THINK SOME OF THIS IS THEIR FAULT,And can you imagine. How this lady must feel.Ithink she should have stopped. But she will have to live with this for the rest of her life.

Unknow: They have told so many conflicting stories about her children that I'm beginning to doubt that any kids were in her car. First, they told she was trying to calm her 4 yr. old autistic son and then they said she was giving him speech therapy. Speech therapy at 12:30 a.m. She should have just stopped when she hit him.
