No, I know both the Dr's there. It was Greer. As I said, Matt Quillen is a very nice man and obviously cares about his pets. Greer is who did the surgery & who came out & refused payments & said he would have let her die. Sorry to burst your bubble about it, but THAT my dear is a FACT.

Dr Greer is one of the best vets around IMO. A few years ago when he was still at animals west I had my two dogs get into a fight and my poor collie could not walk after. He was not even my normal vet but still took Ellie and treated her and TOOK PAYMENTS! Dr Greer would never let a pet die due to something as trivial as a client wanting to pay half up front. My guess is that you have a history of not paying your vet bill. Reputation gets around so think about that.

I'm not going to let you cast aspersions on Dr. Greer and not say anything in his defense. I also think Melissa is full of crap... I started using Dr. Greer at Animals West and now go to Rocky Top with my pets...I've had to ask them a couple of times if they could treat one of my dogs and let me pay payday... they always have without any problem or any flak about it. I've even had to ask Dr. Quillen on a weekend when I had an emergency if I could pay payday and HE said yes. I assume you didn't tell him up front that you were going to have a problem paying his bill and just sprang it on him afterwards...if so, I don't blame him for being pissed at you. It's not a charity.. he has bills to pay too and a staff that probably likes getting their paychecks.. I prefer Dr. Greer because he was the one I started with, but Dr. Quillen has always given my animals the best care if Dr. Greer wasn't around and that's really all I care about... And yes, Dr. Greer may not have the time to chit-chat like he did at ANimals West, but that's okay.. He's busy and I always know that when he is in the room with us, my animals are getting his undivided attention.. that's all that is important.

Doctor Woolsey @ Greene County medical center is the most caring vet I have ever met. You might try him

Dr. woolsey is great, but I don't live near that side of town and arent' going to drive there when I have Dr. Greer who is close to my house. Had one of my girls spayed there yesterday.. Top notch care.. a very reasonable bill. My girl is doing great. I couldn't be happier with RT and everyone there.

I have used the services of both doctors in this recent discussion, and favor Dr.Woolsey personally, but Dr. Quillen has taken great care with my animals whenever I have brought them to his facility.

I have been taking my pets to Dr Greer since he was at Animals West, but ever since him and Dr Quillen opened Rocky Top Vets I have been very disappointed! Dr Greer used to be so personable, and would take his time and talk to you. Recently when I have taken my pets to see him I feel rushed and like he doesn't have time to listen or answer any questions, and that is when i actually get to see Dr Greer and not Dr Quillen. Dr Quillen is always snooty acting and I feel like he is talking down to me the entire time. I can't help but wonder if he is the cause of the changes in Dr Greer. In fact, my dog had surgery a few weeks back and Dr Greer did not even come out and speak to me to let me know how she did or what to do while caring for her afterwards. I stuck my head out of the room to ask how she did and Dr Quillen was walking down the hall. I asked him if he knew, and he cane back with a smart comment about how he was dealing with something else and didn't have time for me. I am now looking for a new vet, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I would like a vet that will listen and has the time to answer my questions. As much as they were charging me there I feel like I should at least feel like My animals are taken care of, but that is not the case. When he opened he assured me his prices would be the same, but that didn't happen either. A man is only as good as his word, and I no longer trust him. I am very upset to have to change vets, but my animals are worth more than the 2 minutes they are getting when I take them in there. Has anyone had any similar issues with Rocky Top Vets? Any help would be very much appreciated.
I really like Crestview Animal.Hospital, My cat is 15 years old and had major surgery in March and the Vet there was so good to her,and after the surgery he came out and talked to me,then took me back to the glassed in ICU to see her,i visted her twice a day and each day he came out and talk to me about her condition, she wasn't exspected to make it through but with thier care she did and its the first day of Aug.and she is doing great.I hope this will help you.if you are anything like me your pet is like one of your children. Good Luck.
