I have been taking my pets to Dr Greer since he was at Animals West, but ever since him and Dr Quillen opened Rocky Top Vets I have been very disappointed! Dr Greer used to be so personable, and would take his time and talk to you. Recently when I have taken my pets to see him I feel rushed and like he doesn't have time to listen or answer any questions, and that is when i actually get to see Dr Greer and not Dr Quillen. Dr Quillen is always snooty acting and I feel like he is talking down to me the entire time. I can't help but wonder if he is the cause of the changes in Dr Greer. In fact, my dog had surgery a few weeks back and Dr Greer did not even come out and speak to me to let me know how she did or what to do while caring for her afterwards. I stuck my head out of the room to ask how she did and Dr Quillen was walking down the hall. I asked him if he knew, and he cane back with a smart comment about how he was dealing with something else and didn't have time for me. I am now looking for a new vet, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I would like a vet that will listen and has the time to answer my questions. As much as they were charging me there I feel like I should at least feel like My animals are taken care of, but that is not the case. When he opened he assured me his prices would be the same, but that didn't happen either. A man is only as good as his word, and I no longer trust him. I am very upset to have to change vets, but my animals are worth more than the 2 minutes they are getting when I take them in there. Has anyone had any similar issues with Rocky Top Vets? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Why don't you address your concerns with the parties in question? Why are you on topix? You are asking them to treat you better why don't you practice what you preach by showing them the respect you are asking for. Sorry if you really did have a problem. I am just sick of people using topix to seek out revenge. Man up and deal with things face to face.

I moved here from the northeast and went to two other vets in Greeneville before finding Dr. Greer and Quillen. They are both GREAT. I've had two pet surgeries done by them and also an emergency that was immediately taken care of. After both surgeries I was told to call with any problems by staff not the vet. Comparing this to the vet I went to for 20 yrs. it is exactly the same.
Time is money in most business and this is no different. They are there 24/7 and that means alot to me having used an emergency vet in yrs past that knew nothing about my animals. Their office is spotless and the lazer surgery they perform is a plus to any animal. Both are always very pleasant to me and my animals are the best judge of this. As far as trusting Dr. Greer about his prices, you get what you pay for!!

I love going to Dr.Quillen, he is a very good vet, he also has always taken plenty of time with my animals and always had good advice for after care and stood by everything they guarentee too...BUT, when he was with Dr.Claiborne, I feel like it was different he was still a very nice guy and did take his time with my animals but, he didnt seem to have the advice and time as he does now..I personally do not care for Dr.Claiborne he is very rude and the only people he wants to deal with is wealthy people, I dont feel like he is there for the animals he wants the money!

Dr. Quillen treated my animals when he was at the other location, and I was always very pleased. He has a special heart for animals, just like his mother. He and Dr. Greer both have done a terrific job treating my animals. I have a cat that was treated at another vet's about a year ago, and has had the same reoccuring, thankfully, Dr. Matt, and Dr. Greer come up with a possible solution involving laser treatment, they have given me hope for this kitty. When it's necessary, they have always taken time to talk to me. I do not expect to see then each time I drop a pet to be treated, if they need to see me, they definitely will. I think it's the greatest and most modern animal hospital in Greene Co., maybe upper E. Tn. I would certainly recommend then in a minute. If someone thinks they haven't been treated well, have the nerve to discuss it rationally with the doctors, and think you will have a different attitude. If Dr.Quillen thinks he doesn't have the complete remedy, he will go to the specialist at UT instead of taking a shot in the dark....Great place to take your babies...l

We are very greatful for the positive comments on this post. As far as the "aggravated" client we are sorry you had a bad experience. Anytime you are in buisness with the public, not everyone will be satisfied every time. However we take great pride in doing all we can to make sure that we take every step to insure a pleasant visit for the owner as well as the patient and strive to provide the best quality care available. While it doesnt happen often, if there is a problem we are more than happy to sit down face to face and discuss possible ways to remedy the situation. In regards to the client above, we hope all the puppies from the c-section are doing well. Again we would like to thank all of our clients for their continued support.

If you, who is doing the bitching, would pay your bill after getting surgery on your dog, they wouldn't have to call you and ask for payment. You lied about coming in to pay your bill. What do you expect?? I would NOT take my animals anywhere else. I've had the rest, now i have the BEST vets at Rocky Top to care for my animals. Next time your dog needs surgery in the middle of the night, drive to the emergency clinic up the road and see what you are charged there.

I have found their prices on services and meds. are just as competitive as other hospitals, and in some cases much cheaper. I've had animals and lots of them for many, many years, I guess I've been to just about every vet in town with the exception of a couple over those years. I have found the all the folks, doctors, and staff personnel at Rocky Top are top notch...I've never felt slighted or just a commodity by anyone. I still say best place in town, and the accomodations for the pets, especially if they have surgery are great. They have a recovery room that is A-One. They wake up in a quiet, warm place instead of a noisy and uncomfortable.

Really Guys, You can't please everybody and dont blame Dr.Greer for changeing he had to, Now he is dealing with his on clinic, has people that depend on him for their paycheck. Dr. Greer has cared for my little girl and done a great job, I continue to hear good things about him,i have left Greeneville now and i am using UT Vet clinic they are top notch and no higher than Rocky Top or anyone else in town, he is so busy its really hard to get an appt.the way i hear it he is what is making that clinic work no one i speak to likes Dr.Q and say that he is a stuck up,and spoiled.
So back off of Dr.Greer if you dont like them go else where.

I agree you can't please everyone. I have nothing but Good to say about Rocky Top. We had a goat to get down "after office hours" we called and a lady told us she would have the Vet to call us right back. He did and was on his way back to the office to check on a dog and offered to meet us there. We meet him at the office "after office hours" he gave us the meds we need for our goat and we was on our way. I would recomment them to anyone for livestock or house pets.

OH and by the way, he didn't charge us extra for after hour visit. He said he had to come back to the office to check on another patient that he wouldn't charge us. Good Service!

I like Dr. Quillen and his personality. He seems to really care about his animals. Dr. Greer on the other hand, not so much. He did come in after hours and do surgery on my dog. 3 days later when I went to get her, I didn't have the money to pay in full. I could pay half, but not all. Dr. Greer told me "if I knew you didn't have the money, I would not have done the surgery" she would have died I told him. He said "I am sorry, I still would not have done the surgery"......Really? A wonderful vet would let a dog die? Not much of a vet in my eyes. Plus, the charges were NOT comparable to the other 2 vets I till the bill to, so I could compare them. Some charges were double, some were triple other vets. Yes, I am glad he did the surgery, but we now use another vet.

Judging from the size of the op post, and the whining involved. She sounds like the person who won't quit talking. They probably can tell they need to keep it short. She sounds like the person who doesn't have enough friends, and is wanting attention. Like , munchausen syndrome by proxy, just a guess.

Wow!!! I will have to agree you are full of shit!!! U might be getting them mixed up. DR. Greer wouldn't tell anyone that and he would let a lot of people make payments, but his business partner doesn't like to do payments. This is a fact..
