How much do you pay for insurance

Let's see if we can get any answers from those who are eager to give opinions on "obamacare"... What kind of insurance do you have, does your employer provide it, how much do you pay for premiums, co-pays, etc? If you don't have insurance, what do you do for healthcare, especially for emergencies like broken Bones, heart attack/stroke, etc?

I pay for my health insurance and don't whine or expect someone to pay it for me. Anyone who doesn't pay for their own healthcare insurance should be required to pay 100% of any healthcare services they receive.

ok try this one, my husband is disabled(for good and legal reasons) because he has worked his whole life he draws SSA(the one u pay into as you work) so here is our situation, I myself have had three strokes, but picked jobs and had friends that has helped me out in life, but several yrs before my husband got sick we were at a place I could quit my job. When he had to quit his job, it took 1 yr to get his disability and since a chronic illness we got to carry COBRA for 5 yrs after that came private insurance, so since I had strokes I was uninsurable, found some loopholes through lots of headaches, so I do have it now, low coverage $530. A month, 3000 ded. Covers no brand name drugs and that cost another $400. A month. No help out there for someone that has tried to save a little money and not to mention penalized for my husbands 401k that he had from work

I agree and uninsured people are the biggest reason why medical care is so expensive. Those who pay pick up the tab for those who don't or won't.

Disgusting.

You're one of the deadbeats people are always talking about, collecting from the government and living off others. All I hear from you is excuses and excuses, all your life is probably nothing but excuses.

Scumbags like you shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of all these programs and loopholes, and game the system as you obviously have done all these years.

This is why the country is in the mess that it is in, because of irresponsible people like you. You went for years frittering all your money away without a care, not saving up for hard times. Then all of a sudden you and your deadbeat spouse become gravely sick, and ONLY THEN does getting health care become a big issue to you.

What this means is that all of us who aren't sick, fat, diabetic, high bloodpressure, etc. have to pay for your healthcare, because you didn't save for your future, and you decided you didn't need health insurance until after you got old and sick.

My healthcare premiums go up because you refused to take care of your body and you refused to pay for your own health insurance like the rest of us.

So people like me exercise and have a good diet, and we take care of our bodies and go get regular checkups. But instead of my health insurance premiums decreasing, they instead increase to cover your healthcare costs, because people like you who smoke and bloat themselves on Big Macs and soda get free healthcare thanks to loopholes, disability, and medicaid.

All these many surgeries you and your chronically ill spouse have to have every 6 months, you should be paying for all of them out of pocket.

And all of the dozens of medications you have to take for back aches, high bloodpressure, diabetes, etc., you should be paying for them out of pocket, too.

But instead, King Commie Darkie rewards deadbeats like you who take and take and give nothing back to society. Meanwhile people who work for a living, and people who are responsible with their savings and health, those are the ones who are punished.

listen here u fricken jerk, they was a doctor put my husband on the wrong meds and burnt his kidneys up so he now has a transplant that the insurance we pay 1500.00 dollars a month out of money they we have saved yrs for, 30,000.00 out of our pockets the last three yrs, and I never said I got any kind of benefit, I got insurance because I never had a time that I ever went without it. I have never received food stamps or Tenn Care because I own a home and pay my frickin share of property tax for ur deadbeat ass that probably rents. If you must know my credit score is 901, can u say that, all I done was explain what the original post ask for, only in shortest term possible, so don't start assuming until you know all the facts, all that does is make a ass out if yourself and I. I have never bitched and complained because my Mother taught me just to be happy that I had the money to pay for it and someone was compassionate enough to be an organ donor, and by the way no I don't draw disability myself cuz my husband had a good job so he draws 20 bucks to much. Something to think about before you start mouthing off about something you don't know all the facts about. May God bless you cuz of you lame attitude you need it. I will pray for us both cuz you really pissed me off.

And further more Mr. Carl Edwards I was born with blood clots, not something my parents or I ask for, 15 yrs old when I had my first stroke, I weighed 95 lbs. most ppl wouldn't call that fat and I pat 243.00 dollars a month for my blood thinner and no I don't have high cholesterol only take meds for that as a precaution and I go to the the doctor twice a year cuz that all my insurance pays for, so therefore when I have a MRI run yearly to make sure I have no blood clots I pay 2800.00 dollars out if my pocket. Trust me if I had a chose in life I would love to be as healthy as u claim to be. And for Gods sake if you do get sick, cuz karma bites hard.

I'm uninsured.

I'm 30 years old. I eat healthy, exercise, avoid smoking/drinking/drugs and minimize unnecessary risk in my life. When I have checkups, I pay for them with cash, often at a percentage of what someone with insurance pays for the same thing. I have money in savings to cover anything more than a routine doctor's visit.

I don't need insurance at this point in my life. And I don't need the government, or anyone else, to decide when I need it.

And to the person who said their credit was 901...which bureau is that from? Because the scale only goes up to 850.

I'm in excellent condition, have absolutely no heath problems and plenty of money in the bank and resources too but one accident could wipe it all out. If that happened, once you've exhausted all your financial resources, then who foots the bill? I believe being uninsured is irresponsible.

Tell me just how do you pay for insurance on a family, anywhere from 500 to 900 a month on ten bucks an hour that you make in good ol Greene County??

What sort of accident am I in danger of?

My top-tier car insurance will pay for anything that happens while I'm driving, whether I'm at fault or not. My home owner's insurance will pay for anything up to and including death that happens in my home or on my property. I work in an office, for a company that is insured. I don't travel unless absolutely necessary, and when I do, I'm driving. My life insurance will cover anything that kills me, anywhere. There is no threat of danger anywhere in my life that wouldn't be covered already.

I might be the exception to the rule but even one exception should render the concept of obligatory health insurance moot. I will not buy something I don't need just to subsidize someone else.

Life is full of freak, unforseen occurances and the world is a very unpredictable place. I don't think I'd ever claim to have ALL my bases covered, who does in reality, but if you're satisfied with your current situation then good for you!(:

How do expect a doctor to pay for his half million dollar and up house, a sports car and a medium SUV for himself, the largest available SUV for his wife, college and new cars for his kids, vacations, country club membership, etc. if you don't pay for your insurance? You are being selfish if you don't help out your doctor and hospital upper management.

I forgot, the doctor needs plenty of your money to keep up a fat, lazy wife, who doesn't work. He also needs to pay someone to clean the house for the lazy wife who finds it beneath her.

You think your car insurance will pay all your bills if you are in a devastating accident like the one that just happened to the church group on I-40? They weren't exactly participating in a dangerous activity either. I hate to tell you, but your helicopter ride alone will cost 30,000 ( I had one patient tell me he just wanted to ride in it, not buy it- LOL). Auto insurance policies are NOT going to cover the long hospitalizations, expensive tests, and months/years of rehab, medicine, equipment, and private nurses and aides to help those people on their long road to recovery. People in that unfortunate accident will exhaust all insurance benefits pretty quickly. And just so you know, just because your policy says it will pay a certain amount of benefits in case of an accident, be aware there is ALOT of fine print. What will you do if you get appendicitis? That could set you back 30,000 or more. What if you get cancer? What if you slip and fall and break your neck in just the right place, then BAM- you're paralyzed. I guarantee you that happens every day to someone who thinks it could NEVER happen to them. I also guarantee you the public foots the bill. I know because I work in healthcare. The reality is that in your situation a catastrophic policy would be the least you could do without being downright irresponsible.

What is most interesting about your response is that you spent a lot of time criticizing this person for being ill, but managed to never answer the initial question. Are you too embarrassed of the truth? If not, then let's talk about you....please tell us exactly what kind of insurance you have, where you get it from, how much are your premiums, co-pays, etc. you really seem to think your sh#* don't stink, so please help the rest of us, understand why you are so reluctant to talk about yourself :)

If it makes you feel any better, people like "Carl Edwards" are quite notorious for having a certain personality type that predisposes them to stroking out. They have usually been so mean and critical al of others that they spend their last days in a nursing home ( ironically paid for by the state) and die alone because even their family is sick of their toxic hate ;)

Thank you for your comments, it did make me feel better. I can't believe how clueless people are. I was talking about a bad situation that has happen in my life and not because of my actions that I have took in my life, but I guess we are all dealt a different hand in life, some deal with it and others bitch about it. Have a great day!
