I'm just curious who has checked out the new Sav-Mor grocery store in town, and what are your thoughts?

I liked the store very much. People, please do not discourage business at any store left open in this town. I don't think anyone is surprised that it an Ingle's store because they sell Laura Lynn products.
It was a clean store with good variety and good prices. The workers were helpful and friendly. Bread was a great bargain! If people would shop in Greeneville and support them, businesses may actually be able to keep their doors open.

The negitive to my shopping experience is the high prices but they do have some bargins if you really look.

The junk bins (or clearence bins) in the front of the store should be removed. It looks trashy.

Some items that I can find in other stores are not available there.

The postive is that the staff are very pleasant and curtious.

I will continue to shop there for items as needed but not my main source of grocery shopping.

Their meat prices are pretty good. Shop the specials in the meat dept. Also 10 lbs of potatoes are $2.00, pretty good. It's a nice clean store.

My shopping experiences have been very pleasant with Sav-Mor. The store is extremely clean, and the staff is very friendly. The younger manager, and the older manager are both great. I will definitely go back!

While savmor has some high prices, there are plenty of deals. I wont pay full price for anything. Therefore I shop their markdowns and special pallet buys. The staff is excellent. They are no higher on regular prices than Food City on prices either. If you want to save money go to United Grocery Outlet in Rogersville. No bakery or deli or anything fancy, but unbelievable deals on close dated merchandise. You can check out their ad at www.ugo.com .

I was pretty impressed with the store overall. Some items are average-priced, but there are plenty of deals to be had. They seem to carry a variety of harder-to-find items as well. I definitely go there when I'm on that side of town. Glad to see that building in use again, too!

luv the store........better than a nasty walmart store and how many people have ever looked at the meat at walmart, look at the writing on the lable below the price........DO NOT freeze this meat. did you know walmart meat comes in frozen and is put in a room to thaw before being put out for sale, it will freezer burn if you freeze it and it is old when you buy it

If you get stuff out of those bins in the front check the date on it b/c most of it is expired and has been out of date for a LONG time.
I was going to buy some of the baby stuff for my son out of there (I was having a very hard time at that time) and the similac formula they had in the cans expired in 2007. So I looked at the other stuff and it had all been expired too so I just left it in my buggie and walked out and haven't been back since.
They should be inspected for health violations.

There has never been anything in those bins from 2007. The store was not even opened until 2009, and I am sure Ingles stores were not sending in two year out of date product to mark down. I shop at this store at least twice a week, and always see them avidly checking dates on mark down items. They'll even admit some things slip by, but it is not far out of date when its caught.
