Do you know other religions from our new countrymen? You could be needed to help teach our children how to be more moral and political correct then we are now.
We have David Hawk helping with Legislation to help our school .Just 2 years ago we helped shut down Spanish classes in our schools to make way for the new China well being classes this past year which David Hawk personally traveled to China to study in a mind to mind religion to religion well being to well being setting. David Hawk has spent the past few years centering his political career towards and on our school system and our needs.

I am sure he should feel we deserve all we are receiving or he would have stood up against the new changes.

I don't know that you can accurately say how West Greene will be next year. There will be new administration and many faculty changes. The admin wasn't forced out, they really did just decide to retire. Both were of the age and have been in ed for over their 30 years.

Some new hires were let go, other faculty chose to transfer to jobs in other schools.

The school is old and really needs the addition they are supposed to be building on. The students there really need good teachers, so best of luck if you are a good teacher-New to Greene County!

@Four your information-I'm not sure what spewed forth, but you didn't answer the original question!

Yes,@cityteacher, I am a math teacher, and I think a good one! Thanks for the info. I was glad to see openings there but so many there when there were so few elsewhere had me worried. But after having taught in a 2500 student school up north, I can't imagine there's too much I can't deal with.
And I couldn't figure out @FYI's post either.
BTW, new name is because I actually signed up now. LOL.

West Greene is a great school with a staff that appears to be getting a younger and more diverse look, which is a good thing. Next year will be different, not only because of the change in administration, but also because of the graduating Senior class. That class seemed to have set the general energy and mood at the school, for the most part. The new administration will be good I believe. Dr. Lamons will be a good principal, as long as she establishes that she is the boss there early into the year. I could be completely wrong about all this, but this is just an opinion from a local resident

Confuused on the point you are making. Wouldn't that mean the city is advanced or that West Greene is lacking or behind in instruction?academics?

If he came from the city and was "double promoted" then that means the citys curriculum is harder than the county schools...which means he would have gotten a better education in the city

Graduation is based on the obtainment of the minimum crdits established by the SDE. 4 English, 3 Math, etc. Both systems have a program for students who are behind when they enter their senior year. they don't take as many electives, but still have to have the core courses and pass the Gateways(for now-standards changed with this year's 10th graders). NCLB mandates a 90+% grad rate, so you do what you gotta do!

He had gotten a better education and faster in the city! And it has nothing to do with his age (he was 17), but he passed all the requirements AND got a diploma and not a GED!

Thanks for the responses! Interesting to say the least. I want the job, no matter what, I just wanted to see if I could get a feel for the school and the community before I go into the interview. I do keep forgetting they are getting a new principal and therefore the whole "atmosphere" of the school could change.
