Thanks Willie. He had struggled with depression for years. He tried hard to control it and he did all the right things, but I guess it just caught him at a vulnerable moment and struck. Did you ever know the lady he lived with?

Thank you, Myst, Interprid, adn Wet Willie, I only come here to defend myself from time to time! And I'll damned if I let anybody call Bill Cobble a homosexual. He was a smooth operator on the ladies' side of the fence. Smooth.

I'm with you. I've seen him "operate" around the ladies. He always seemed to have an attractive one around. I'll miss him and Brian Ricker and "Little Phil" Hunter and "Little Bobby" Bird. They weren't perfect people, but who the hell is? Why is this happening?

Fact and Nothing but Fact, one thing I assure you Bill Cobble was not homosexual. I will defend that and he always had a beautiful wife or woman on his arm. He, was, in point of act, an expert womanizer. One the greats. Not a homosexual bone in his body. That's a wierd thing for you to bring up anyway.
Why would you say such when he's gone? Bad form, man.
I would know for a fact what he did as he and I were lovers about 8yrs ago. So Park you don't know it all. That's a real shocker, huh??? Until you get your facts straight don't comment here either. Yes, I am a man and Yes, I did love Bill at one time. Hate that his family is going through this and will pray for them. I still know the facts though. Wouldn't post if I didn't!!!!

The older I get,the more dead friends I have.I did not know Mr.Cobble, but my feelings and thoughts are with his family. The thing is WE all have friends that may be down and /or contemplateing taking their own lives, its hard to see (one of my good friends comitted last year)we need to research and learn a little more on the subject,to recognise and support this ,,remember "a friend in need is a friend indeed" I dearly miss all I have known that have passed from this life, and knowing a little more, one of us somewhere might just help or stop one from doing this one day.Even if its just one......its one less. I wish peace and closure to the Cobble family.

Your post reminds me of someone in church who uses prayer to "gossip". You use verbiage such as ".. wierd thing for you to bring up anyway" and 'Why would you say such when he's gone?" and even "Bad form, man."; yet you just had to put your own little "dig" in by slipping in that he was "an expert womanizer" --that's just sad.

Bill was a kind man and I pray for his entire family.

So let it be written, so let it be done!

I've spent time with many grieving families over the years. The general consensus among survivors and well wishers is that there is a great degree of difficulty finding proper words that provide comfort.

Your post shows how it sometimes is best to send flowers or a card and leave words of "comfort" to those better able to convey them.

A better statement would be that "once again" Park has illustrated her ignorance.

Hey Jimbo, I know exactly what you mean. What I usually say to family members is, "I appreciated his life". This certainly applies in my relationship with Bill. Hope this helps. Have a merry Christmas.

Your husband/father/friend, etc. was a good man. He left a lot of smiles on this earth and cared about a lot of people. God knows who is writing hurtful things and He knows why. During your time of mourning, I pray that God will protect your hearts from people who apparently have no hearts.

The person posting the crap about Bill being gay is idiot acquaintence of mine who makes me ashamed that I even know him. He told me about posting it and was laughing about it. He had some sort of tiff with Bill and this is his sick way of getting back at a dead man. Tasteless and cruel. Ignore it please. I am so sorry that certain people feel the need to screw with a grieving family's life for a cheap laugh. Whatever your beef with him, it's over now. I am sorry. I did not know Bill personally, but I felt the need to post this because of what I was told. If it was my family/friend I would want to know.
