Lets start a new thread and discuss Friday's game. What do you all think will be the outcome?
#2 Nov 15, 2013
I truly believe that next week will end Greenevilles streak.

Greeneville has worked hard and hard work pays off. It will be a dog fight but Fulton was shaken up last night. I believe in the team and hopefully their journey will continue. They have heart and discipline. Destination Cookeville.

I'm going out on the limb and say GHS by 10.
#6 Nov 16, 2013
That's exactly what I'm going by. I've been to almost all of Greeneville games this year. I also got to see Fulton play Carter. Six weeks ago I would of said Fulton. I've heard all year that they are comparable to the great team Alcoa had a few years back. The year Alcoa had that team, Greeneville played them. We had a good team and Alcoa beat us like we were nothing. After watching Fulton they are not comparable to that Alcoa team. Bad game or not Alcoa would beat you by 40 or more that year. I'm not in any way saying Fulton doesn't have a great team. They do, but so does Greeneville. This game is a toss up, but I think Greeneville has more all around team speed and will win.

I don't think you can compare teams that haven't played each other, especially teams from 4 years ago or whatever. I doubt that any Alcoa team could beat this Fulton team by 40 so you are going WAY out on a limb there Rufus. lol I think not blowing South out last night might be the best thing that could happen to Fulton as I think they will be hungry to show what they can do. Just a thought but there might have been just a little bit of "sand bagging" going on last night with Fulton. This is a very good coaching staff folks so don't think that doesn't happen occasionally. My prediction is Fulton by 17.

I didn't realize Fulton has had as much success as they have in the last 11 years. I went on their website last night. They have played for I think 6 or 7 state championships in the last 11 or 12 years. Very good program.
#10 Nov 16, 2013
I agree not blowing South out last night will probably help them. It's hard for me to think that a good coaching staff would sand bag in the 2nd round of a state playoff game. I actually think South had a real good team. As I stated earlier on another post I thought they would beat Betsy. Yeah, Fulton has a great staff. If I remember from reading about them last year the dad retired from head coach and now his son is coach. If I am correct, South had a turnover trying to score in the 4th quarter which would of put them ahead. So I have to question sand bagging. Anyway, I think GHS has a lot better team than you are giving them credit for. The seniors on the team have won 2 state championships. So they are used to this kind of environment. I just wished it was at home.

I just reread my post where I mentioned Alcoa, Jar Head. I didn't mean to insinuate that Alcoa would of beat this Fulton team by 40 or more. I just meant any team in general that year. They certainly didn't beat Maryville by that much. So I guess I typed before I thought. I will say after thinking this time, that Fulton or GHS, this year's teams, would not of beat that years team. I also don't think either one could beat Maryville this year.

Fulton and Sullivan South meet for the first time ever in tonight’s playoff game at Bob Black Field. The Falcons have won 19 consecutive home playoff games…The Falcons recorded their seventh shutout of 2013 last week against Unicoi Co. FHS broke the school record for points scored in a season last week. The Falcons have scored 686 points on the year, and are 62 points away from tying the TSSAA record…Evan Headrick caught eight passes for a school record 218 yards in South’s 40-23 win over Carter……Fulton is the overall #1 seed in Class 4A…Fulton currently has the top scoring offense (62.4 pts/gm) AND the second best defense (5.2 pts/gm) in Tennessee…The Falcons have scored 35 points or more in their last 17 games…RB Daryl Rollins-Davis has a streak of 16 consecutive 100 yard games. Hey Rufus......I just copied and pasted this info from the Fulton website to let you know what you are facing Friday night. Do you REALLY think Gville can slow down this offense? Time will tell my friend.
#13 Nov 17, 2013
LOL! I guess we will see Friday night. Sullivan South sure seemed to slow it down. I can tell you this. We are in a whole different league than Sullivan South. I have enjoyed talking high school football with you. I try to go to all the home games and any away games that I think could be competitive. As many players as Fulton and GHS are losing, I think some other teams may have a shot the next 2 years. Good luck Friday. I guess the players are actually going to do the talking for us. I will leave you with this: I have seen both teams live, you have not!
#15 Nov 17, 2013
it sux that they have to meet now and not in the championship game. both teams would beat the rest of 4a by 3 td's.
#16 Nov 17, 2013
You've got me there because I have not seen both teams play this year. I wouldn't say South shut down Fulton since they scored over 40 on them. Anyway , I have a lot of respect for GHS and I know they have an outstanding team. It's a shame that either team has to lose this early in the tournament but that's the way it is. Good luck to both teams . This is all in fun Rufus so please don't let my comments make you mad.
#17 Nov 17, 2013
I'm not in any way getting mad over this. I'm just having fun too. I won't take anything from either team. They are by far, the best 2 4A teams in the state. This game could go either way. You guys certainly have the advantage of playing at home. In a way I am glad of this. Nothing better than whipping up on a team on their home field. I say good luck to both teams and congratulations on a perfect season so far. By the way, I will probably be sitting to the right of the band facing the field around 30 yard line. So if you beat us bad, you can hold a sign up in that area to rub it in.

How bout y'all come on over to Coach T and join the real conversation about this game. It's way more fun! www.coacht.com
#19 Nov 18, 2013
Greeneville will win this game by 24 points most of you might find that hard to belive but you"ll see friday night.. might even be more.. im calling 49-21 greeneville.
#20 Nov 18, 2013
49-21 would be 28 points not 24 but who's counting. lol I think you are wrong but we will find out on Friday night.
#22 Nov 18, 2013
I knew it wasnt you Rufus....you are too smart to think Gville will win by that much. I hope the weather is about like it is today on Friday night but I will be happy as long as it doesn't rain. Looking forward to a great game.
#23 Nov 18, 2013
Greeneville will be outmatched in every aspect of the game, sorry Devils maybe next year.
It will be something like the Vols against the Ducks
Just too much for Gville to handle.
The score will not reflect the game ,Fulton will have 2nd 3rd string in by the third quarter so I would say .... Fulton 48 Gville 28.
#24 Nov 18, 2013
I am predicting Fulton by 17. Granted I haven't seen Greeneville play this year but I haven't seen many teams that match the speed that Fulton will bring at you. Fulton has 3 kids that can just absolutely fly and that's hard for most HS teams to defend. I also think Fulton has played stiffer competition this year and that will be in their favor. The 1st quarter of this game will be very important in my opinion. If Fulton can get their athletes in the open field it will be a long night for Gville. But......if Gville can make some stops defensively, maybe get a turnover then anything can happen. Two very good undefeated teams meeting on a Friday night in the South......this is what makes HS football so great. Looking forward to it.
