That is only ONE of MANY written opinionated accounts based on individual interpretations. It is not a solid belief of every Mormon.
Can you explain the conception of Jesus? Because I'm a little confused on how that came about.
The conception of Jesus? His Father is GOD! That's how he was conceived, God is God and can do anything.

You can't even step foot on the alter that leads TO the temple! You can't get close enough to the inner part.
Nope, they don't marry YOUNG either. JOSEPH Smith (not JOHN Smith) found the tablets through God...and interpreted them with the voice of God guiding him. The tablets are not from a damn UFO! I doubt you ever lived in Salt Lake City.
Where are these tablets that he found less than 200 years ago? I'd probably keep them pretty close if I was founding a new religion based on them. OK - so I can't get into the Temple at all. And, smart one - they DO marry young. They also must do a year or two of missionary work to reach the highest level of heaven. So I was told, by a freaking high school age Mormon in Magna (right outside of Salt Lake City) who was engaged to be married in her senior year and planning her missionary work for immediately after graduation so that she could assure herself of reaching this highest level in heaven. And, sorry, John or Joseph. I never can get his name right.

Actually, they DO believe in the Virgin birth. My question to you is why is it okay for Catholics to pray to Mary in belief that she goes to her son on their behalf for answers to prayers when in fact the ONLY way to God is through Jesus!?
Read Exodus 20:2 and feel free enlighten me with your interpretation.

What does Catholicism have to do with this thread? I am not a Catholic and I do not agree with their beliefs either. Like you say - idolatry and other stuff. Jim Jones led a supposed Christian church but that doesn't make him right. It also wouldn't make you right to use his church as an example of Christianity because his particular sect does not represent the entire Christian faith. He led a cult .......... that he destroyed before it grew to tremendous size. Like the Mormons. A cult.

not trying to upset you, but what on EARTH does Jim Jones have anything to do with Joseph Smith? 2 different cults.... Otherwise I agree, those cults are not representative of true Christianity. Catholicism is also VERY different

I was using Catholicism as an example of a religion that does not follow what Jesus teaches. John 14:6. Yet Catholics pray to Mary. Why single out the Mormon religion because of their beliefs? Is it because you don't agree? or it is too far out for you to comprehend? The belief that seems crazy to you is the exact same belief that compelled your friend to do missionary work. Oh wait, let me guess...your friend was brainwashed. Yeah okay.

Just making a point. Jo Smith just pulled out something about Catholics trying to bolster his defense of Mormonism. You are right - Jim Jones has nothing to do with this thread. Same goes for the reference to Catholicism. You can't judge ALL Christian faiths by one and you can't use one Christian faith to represent ALL. There are differences and there are cults.

Yes, she was. I single them out because of their beliefs. Not to get off track, but, we know Democracy to be right and Naziism (sp.?) to be wrong. Why is that? Because we are brainwashed? Or, because that statement is true?

I have given your question more thought, as I realized how flippant my answer was. Okay let's tackle this question from the beginning. First, Jesus is the Word. It says in Genesis the Word was with God from the beginning. Skip ahead.... I don't think was anything like what we think when we say Mary conceived. Our bodies are merely vessels for our immortal souls. God didn't just send us our Savior, He wanted us to see that He was willing to do the work of His Heavenly Father as one of us. He limited Himself to show us God has no limitations. He basically sent His Sons soul into Mary so when she had physically conceived His Soul would be that body's. Does anything I just said make sense, or did I just confuse myself and everyone else? I don't hold any theological doctorates, so please take it easy on me.

Being a true Christian requires the belief in things beyond our ability to know. I can no more answer how Christ was concieved as I can tell you how Christ walked on water or raised the dead. It is not important for us to know how, it is just important that we believe it did happen. That is what faih is.

As are all non religious people. They avoid religion so avidly as to making it a religion in and of itself. Everyone holds something to be above themselves, even if it's a narcisstic image of ones self.

So you've lumped all non religious people into one category, one big "cult". Tunnel vision at its best.

Oh not at all. Each have their own different god, they don't all feel the same way about religion. Some attack religion, others may say to each their own. I'm sorry, I must not be going into enough detail in my posts for you to understand me. More likely you have been making assumptions all along about me and my views based on your thinking I'm some religious nut. I'm sorry you feel the way you do and will pray for you.

If Romney loves America soooo much then why has he outsourced so many Jobs to India and China and Indonesia? He out of touch with the working class. VERY frightening.

If you are of the Christian faith then you believe that god is not Jesus... Jesus is the son of god... if you are a Christian then you believe in the holy trinity... the father, the son, and the holy ghost...Jesus is also a zombie, he died then three days later he rose from the dead... He also tried to get his disciples to eat his flesh and drink his blood, which also makes him vampirous....
