He probally wasn't making any money. Niswonger brought him here hoping the gallery would help the General Morgan. It's just a matter of time before the Morgan closes. It looses money every day.

. The difference is that the General Morgan Inn can hemorrhage all the losses and still stay open because its probably being used as a tax (loss) write off for Niswongers other businesses that make huge profits .

One of the owners has had some health concerns and could no longer climb up and down the stairs. (They lived In the top of the building). From what I understand, they are reopening somewhere else.

Just trying to talk with those guys was annoying. The guy with long hair always acted pretentious and as if everything in his gallery was great, when fact is that most everything in there was quite hideous. I am surprised they made it as long as they did, but agree that another empty space downtown is tragic. Niswonger had good intentions, but his owning all of downtown has stifled growth. That dampens the entrepreneurial spirit of someone coming in, purchasing property, renovating and trying to make it come hell or high water. In today's market, those buildings downtown aren't worth anything, which would make it very easy for someone to buy and place a business. Unfortunately, Niswonget owns the majority of the space and lease (coupled with renovation and startup costs) are stifling.
