Just a thought

Why is suicide illegal? If someone wants to die, that's their choice, let them. It would probably stop a lot of mass killings also. Make it legal, go to the hospital, they will put you in a room, give you something to end it painless and everything works out. They say the world is overpopulated as it is and if someone is suffering, let their suffering end. Just a thought.

If you want a doctor to kill you, go ahead. Legal or not, if you're dead, they won't put YOU in jail.

They won't put you in jail, but your family won't get any insurance money either...

Statistics show that suicide runs in families.

Whenever someone goes to a therapist or psychiatrist with depression and/or suicidal feelings, one of the first questions asked is "Has anyone in your family ever attempted to hurt themselves or ended their lives?"

Some argue that it's because depression is genetic
and since depression sometimes leads to suicide, relatives are more likely to attempt to take their lives.

However, some argue that anytime a person commits suicide, it puts the idea in other people's head. It lets them know that suicide is an option.

Whatever the connection, we do know that if a family member commits suicide, their relatives--children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, etc.--are more likely to attempt suicide.

If for no other reason, a person should not commit suicide. You DO NOT want that to be your legacy. You do not want to start (or perpetuate) suicide in your family.

If you don't care about yourself. Why would you care about your family?

Also I think a lot of insurance will pay for suicide after they've had the policy for 2 years. It used to be that way, it may have changed since there are so many suicides.

Not meaning this in any disrespect and very sorry for your loss. I'm sure it's very hard on the family, but sometimes you need to think of the person that is suffering.

Actually sometimes we are being selfish by making someone stay around that just wants it to end, for whatever the reason.

I understand you completely. My papaw committed suicide when I was 8 and I loved him very much. Im 28 now and theres never a day that goes by that I dont think of him. Its a wierd thing because he was a christian man and had all of us who loved him very much. I was really hurt then but as I got older I felt mad because I thought it was selfish of him but then I would think to myself how bad he must of been hurting inside for him to do such a thing. My husbands uncle done the same thing 2 years ago. Its something that you never expect out of some people. My papaw never spoke of it, he just done it. They say it runs in families but I would never think of doing it, Im not that brave. I know brave sounds like the wrong word to use but it would take alot of guts to do it.....I pray for any family that goes through any death but suicide is something that hurts even worse I think, it did for me. It just feels like alot of things I will never know and so many unanswered things I will never get to ask. The main question is WHY....I still love my papaw even now I think of him. He was a good soul and I know the BIBLE says you go to hell if you do it but I try to put that in the back of my mind and just hope that maybe GOD knew he wasnt himself and he was in hell here on earth. Hopefully he was forgiven and hes in Heaven with peace in his heart and mind. It hurts to think otherwise.

Please cite your reference to the Bible stating that suicides go to hell. Chapter and verse, please. I can't seem to find it.

What I've found is that the only unforgiveable sin is denying the Spirit, refusing to believe. Jesus understands our human frailty. After all, He came to earth as a human and experienced it Himself.
