Our meat was contaminated with e coli, aerobic bacteria plate count was 3 million and 700 thousand (in beef it should be below 1 million, but 500,000 is ideal), also lactobacilious was 98,000 (should be in hundreds for beef). Our beef was tested in a USDA lab. These numbers are extreme and prove that sanitation is not good and the equipment is extremely dirty. The e coli goes on to show that there are preferated intestines in the meat and cow manure! Anyone who handles a lot of meat can smell the lactobacilous (it thrives in dairy). All of our meat had this smell. Please don't slaughter/butcher here. Go to a facility that has inspectors there everyday. Also, don't poison your family.

So did you just go to have your purchases tested? I mean, if I go there for meat, I go home and cook it, not send it to the lab. You are just full of crap dude! The health inspector would not allow this to go on in a business. What happened,? Did Jr. Beat you in a fishing tournament?

Since you're so smart you would know that if the meat is cooked at the proper temperature it will kill the bacteria.

I have lots of digestion problems and Harris's is one of the only places I can buy beef and tolerate it. I call bullshit. Instead of being on here running your mouth you should be on the phone with a state health inspector trying to get the place closed down if your allegations are true
. Also, how do we know you didn't contaminate the meat before it was tested?

To Joe Hancock we aint had a beef here with this name so put your real name or farm name please before u go accusing this business of anything there is a federal inspector here everyday they have not found a problem with this establishment....your beef was checked before it left this establishment so therefor the problem.is on your end there is also a problem when possibly your freezer goes out it sets up stuff in your meat people do this when something happens and they want to con it off on the business trying to get them to pay for there problem..... u seem to be the only one that has had this problem with in this establishment we do testing too.....
So before u get on here accusing this business of this u needs to get the facts right..... we stand by and do the best we can for our customers... so thank u to the rest of u again this is a FEDERAL INSPECTED BUSINESS FIVE DAYS A WEEK DUE TO US ONLY BEING OPEN FIVE DAYS A WEEK....

PLEASE NOTE: If you are going to take your hogs here to be processed, make sure you have a federal inspector on site with you to witness or you MIGHT NOT GET YOUR MEAT BACK.

Let me guess your one of those people that think if you have a hog that you think is 500 pounds you should get 400 pounds of meat back right. It doesn't work that way. Or your one of those back yard free range freaks that expects your animals to grow on air and sunshine. Do your animals a favor and sell them all. HARRIS meats would not be in business if they cheated people.

Harris Meats is the best place around here to buy meat. You seem to have a problem with them why didn't you take it to them in person instead of on here. Chicken Sh$%Rt

I appreciate your loyalty to a business. I have loyalty as well to my family, and I posted this so others might be warned prior to taking standing hooves to Harris Country Meats. Thank you.

We just want others to be careful and not have the same thing happen to them. Not personal. Just business.

That is what we plan to do next time is have it done on site, or at least have an inspector present going forward. Thank you.
