Right. I would love to have you for an employee, and no way to fire you. You would automatically up the morale of the workplace by leaps and bounds.

I haven't seen you or heard you talk, so it would be tough to JUDGE you on either. You may be a great worker, but I can JUDGE your attitude by what you write, and a poor attitude does not translate into to a happy employee. And a unhappy employee is poisonous to the workplace environment.

Just because my attitude is a bit hateful in words does not mean I show that in public. Sure I am angry, sure I have issues, and sure my words are out of line but when it comes to public relations or any job dealing with the public does not mean one thing. I believe there is a place and time for certain things.

It is also known as "the Right to Move State." You may want to try that. I moved here from the Commonwealth of VA - common to everyone BUT the wealthy. I love it - so few taxes!! No state tax!! The taxes that you do have are generally lower (except for sales taxes). Amazingly, alot of what I buy here is cheaper than if I bought it in VA. Find a decent job and you can live comfortably here. Family members have been looking into moving here for cheaper retirement.

Why would an employer want to fire a good employee and why should an employer be forced to keep a poor employee? If someone shows up to work on time every day, doesn't cause problems and makes the employer a profit I doubt they would ever have to worry about being fired. It's pretty simple, doing a good job = keeping a good job.

You need to go back to VA. It's bad enough out of towners has to move here and OVER populate our small town. We got enough cars on the road as it is and certainly don't need another one to join in!

Who said anything about hiring a good worker? I can see firing a bad one but, that's not the issue. My problem is that these employers will not hire anyone unless they are related to someone of close friends that have someone they know with NO experience but get hired anyway because they are friends with the employer! Now,did you get that?

i agree to an extent, the factories in tn do what they please when it comes to giving promotions & favoritism, which are two things a union is great for. they also don't pay us what we are worth. every month we sit through an all employee meeting to hear them tell us how many millions of dollars we made them the previous month, & when it comes to giving a raise it's around .30-40 cents. "wow" really? all that for me? our insurance sucks & they come up at the last minute & tell us we have to work over without notice. unions are good for stuff like that, but they can also hurt the business like the one at five rivers did. there has got to be a middle ground.

I don't know who said anything about hiring a good worker, I didn't say anything about hiring. If you aren't happy with your current employment situation, maybe the problem is you and not the employers. I have reason to question you ability to comprehend written information, as I clearly didn't use the word hiring in my post. Do you have the same comprehension problem with verbal instructions?

You are paid what you are worth. If you had skills that were hard to replace, you would command more money. The problem is that you are easily replaced, so why should they pay you more? It is up to you. Why do you think that Tiger Woods makes so much money? He has a skillset which is hard to duplicate. You, on the other hand, do not. Blame yourself, not the person you work for.

Your comments prove your mental capacity, as I wouldn't have to meet you to decide not to hire you. And as for labor unions, if you think there isn't favoritism and corruption while they rule the roost, you are beyond help. Labor unions are corrupt as they come and there is little correlation between labor unions and higher wages, although they love you thinking that, as they rack in millions from their numb brain members and pay their leaders salaries that are outrageous while throwing cash at every Democrat that campaigns. Talk about corruption, they define it!

No doubt corruption is in the Union,it's in all Services as well as in Government. If I were to show up because you had a Help Wanted sign and I was experienced and another guy shows up a little younger with NO experience, I'd bet my life you'd hire him quicker, that's not knowing either of us. That's my point or at least one of them.

Problem is simple. Everyone wants a job but few want to work. I see it every day at work. Dead asses doing as little as possible to collect a check. Having one guy punch in/out a group so they can sneak out a side door. People just not showing up. Then the same idiots bitch about pay? Wtf try working 40 first asshats. Right to work....I'd fire the lot of em.

Bullshit. Any employer with half a brain would go for experience and a bit older. Why?
1 experience means less training = more returns
2 For the most part and I don't mean to lump in all young people... Young people just do not want to work period.

i disagree. in my field of work, workers are paid anywhere from $5.00 to $10.00 more on the hour in other towns. it's this little town we live in that sucks on wages. with the lack of jobs that this time, employers know that can short change you & work you into the ground because you don't have a choice anymore. lucky to have a job, but it's still not right how they are taking advantage of their employees because of the job market.
