The Bible warns us against tattoos in Leviticus 19:28 (Amplified) which says,Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print or tattoo any marks upon you: I am the Lord.

but,,,, we have people here who know more than God.(they think)

<quoted text>I think this is all hilarious. People start a thread voicing their opinion, we continue it voicing ours. But somewhere along the line someone takes such offense to what we say that they have to try to degrade us by calling us names and saying we're classless. I don't really care. My family loves me and in the end, that's all that counts. People can stay shallow forever. Just proves if we're that damn bad, so are they.
Absolutely!:-) to me, there's just much more to a person than an outer appearance.:-)

I agree with your bible verse David but you have to think that some were not aware of Christ's teaching before they received a tattoo if that's the scripture that it falls on. Our body's are a temple but some of our temple walls are decorated. And tattooing is not the only thing one believes 'ruins the body'. Over indulging in junk food and fast food also falls into this category because our stomachs are not waste baskets; we are to care for our bodies. Also with your Leviticus verse, the old testament is old law; new testament new. In the old testament, it was 'God reaching to man' and the new law is 'man reaching to God.' A lot of the commandments in the old testament were before Christ and made to honor God with the guidelines. A few preachers have informed me that tattooing was in the context so that the Egyptians would not carve into their skin in honor of their gods; obviously this is idolatry and a sin in the eyes of the Lord. If you notice, the old testament laws and the new testament laws aren't all the same; it has evolved throughout the bible. The history of excluded laws in our days compared to theirs is the sacrifice of animals, forbidden intake of shell fish, the right to put your seed in another outside of marriage if childbirth was not an option and so many more. His laws were stricter back then but the blood of Jesus freed us from most. We have the freedom to be unchained from some of God's laws that he had issued in the days of Abraham. I have tattoos and I love God and my tattoos did not affect my relationship with Him. He is the best friend I can talk to about everything; only He knows my story and only He can judge. Even if a Christ follower looks down on one with tattoos, the bible tells us ' Love thy neighbor' so if your neighbor has ink, don't look down on them. We all live and learn and we should all live and love.

You are so right on with this.
A sin is a sin, is a sin. I sin with tattoos (among other things). They sin with judging me for them.

A preacher said at a funeral last night... The most important Commandments are the first and second. If you can do the first, Love no other God, put no other God before Him... You can handle the first half. If you can do the second, Love thy neighbor.. You have the second half covered. I thought it was fitting.

And my Bible app has daily verses.. This was today's.:-)
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and
clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from
you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
(Ephesians 4:31, 32 KJV)

The ones who posted above are the ones who believe Gods word only applies to others. Simply amazing how hypocritical some people are.

I truly don't believe you read anyone's comments beside your own. It doesn't matter what is said. You will rebuke any word that isn't your own. I am done here.
Have a great night!:-)

I do believe it was the sweet azz beats and words from Salt-n-Pepa that said, "There's only one true judge and that's god. So chill and let my father do his job."

What is simply amazing is how you try to use God to justify your own narrow-minded views. Who are you to judge another for their decisions. Is it because you don't have the nerve to get a tattoo, or are you just jealous of someone who has the courage to follow their heart. And as far as God's word only applies to others, does it not also say that you should not judge others . Now you've made me upset that someone so full of themselves had the nerve at verbally attack someone as good as the ladies on here. I only hope that someday you will realize that others matter as much as you do, maybe more.

What is still amazing, is that in 2013, people still believe in imaginary friends in the sky and that each religion believes in different imaginary people in the sky. Wow, You can not make this stuff up. People really are sheep. Indoctrination is an ugly thing.

I have found that most woman or men who have many tats hang out in biker bars and try to put on a tough guy image. It's really very childish and immature when one gives it serious thought.
