I was just checking back to see why the debate has turned one sided. I believe that there is not true facts or history for a solid rebuttal. I am beginning to understand that true Christians cannot defend (with facts) why they think the way they do. This is perfectly O.K. & everyone should have his/her own beliefs regardless of how others think. The point is: just because you believe & live your life based on your biblical readings, does not mean the rest of us think this way or have to live our lives by the same rules. The Non-Christian U.S. Constitution is the only governing law for the nation.

You sentence didn't make any sense. You can't push your religion on other people. It belongs IN YOUR HOME. Why can't you see this? You don't want the religion of Islam pushed on you!

You are right The Facts that I don't want anyone's religion pushed on me. However, whether the court house has the Ten Commandments, or a page from the Koran.. big friggin' deal! Do I want what I believe pushed in public school? Absolutely not! BUt, I see a big difference in a teacher who is say, Catholic, standing up in front of the class and talking about Catholisicm (or Baptist or Muslim) and a plackard being put on a wall. That is the problem I have. I also don't have a problem with you agnostics or aethisists putting your crap up alongside a manger scene either. It's an excellent lesson that you can teach to your kids about the cookoos out there. It is the liberal left who want to stiffle free speech from anyone they don't agree with. You have the right to do what you want. I just get sick of you treading on my rights.

You don't want the religion of Islam pushed on you! My sentence was very clear. If you are right and there is no God, then, I die, I die... get the dirt nap and that's it. However, if there is a God (pick whatever religion you want) and if there is a judgment day.. well... as I said, good luck. What if you are wrong?Personally, I truly don't understand how anyone can say there is not some sort of higher being.. I really don't get that at all, but that's just me.

You bash those whom you do not understand & then back up and say you don't have a problem with anybody believing what they want to believe. Excellent lesson to teach children about cookoos? Then you blame everything on the Liberal left? You know what you ignorant fool? I am sick & tired of ignorant, small minded fools such as yourself treading on MY rights as an American. You know, the United States of America, where separation of Church & State was the basis for founding the Country. The settlers ran away from those who oppressed them with their beliefs. You also just cannot contain yourself & state that what Aetheist & Agnostics believe is crap. You, are a HUGE part of the reason why people run from "YOUR RELIGION" today. If ignorance is bliss, then you must be an extremely blissful individual. You d#mn hypocrite.

I am not bashing anyone- too bad you can't refrain from doing the same. Believe what you want... whether the Ten Commandments are taken off every building in the land, makes no difference. It is what it is and my personal belief is that some day, you will wish that you had a different belief. Shrugs. But, as you say.. perhaps I'm wrong.. perhaps it's all just a big fairy tale...I'm not worried about the future. If you aren't either.. great.. it's all good.

"Because of the religious views contained in the Ten Commandments, displaying the Decalogue on public buildings would send a message of official disapproval to religions that reject those views. Government would effectively be labeling minority religions as having false, inferior, and even unpatriotic religious beliefs. As a result, their adherents would be viewed as second-class citizens. Besides being highly offensive, that treatment is a prescription for intolerance and persecution. Throughout history, refusing to support a state-established religion was often considered not only irreverent but treasonous. This was because opposing the government’s religion was the same as opposing the government. Punishment was meted out accordingly by either the government or private persons."

"Such divisiveness has the potential to cause horrendous evil. It’s a reason the Founding Fathers provided in the Constitution that government shall be neutral concerning religion.
They knew that throughout history, governmental involvement in religion had caused millions to be killed in conflicts over whose religious beliefs should be supported or opposed by the government.
In fact, much persecution occurred in Europe precisely over the meaning of the ban on worshipping a “graven image.”
Besides disputes over which version of the Ten Commandments should be promoted by government, the religious diversity of today’s America could result in conflicts over whose sacred texts should have the same privilege.
It’s entirely possible that some persons would argue for display of the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism, the Five Pillars of Islam, the Wiccan Rede, or the Affirmations of Humanism. Others would surely argue to the contrary.
Keeping religion and government separate, as the Founders intended, prevents these conflict. "

It's not a choice, it's the law. Like it or not, it's part of the U.S. Constitution. Why can't people understand that separation of church and state was what this country was founded on.

Why can't you understand that the constitution was drafted to have no forced religion like in England (the church of England) but did NOT say there could be no mention of God at all no matter how much you want to shout it.

Religion, mainly Christianity is about learning to live with one another and our separate but equal beliefs. Why do Christians make everything there way or the highway? Why can't they respect the laws of the land and of others, especially in this county. Are we all truly so closed minded or is the confederacy and their warped ideas still not wiped away from this place. I have no respect for anyone who believes these things to be true.

The court must be jewish considering the fact that by spiritual law, the ten commandments became obsolete after the coming of christ. The famous golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do to u, became the new commandment. This new law by Christian was mention to sum up the previous ten laws into one.
