Are they a pretty good place to work for? I was thinking about applying for a direct staff support position, but I was hoping someone on here could give me some insight on the other workers / managers.

The absolute worse place to work in greeneville. They keep people that abuse the clients and seriously hurt them and then fire the ones who actually care about them and take care of them. If you call them any kind of nickname like honey or sweetie or somethin like that, your fired. They check your facebook or myspace and if there is any type of picture where your drunk or doing somethingg stupid no matter if your 21 or not they fire you for it.

Once again, I doubt your being late one time caused you to lose your job. Fess up.

If your even a minute late there you get fired. Trust me I know I worked there. I got fired for something someone else was doing. They will find any and everything to fire you from there. Why do you think they always have an ad in the paper needing people to work?

You mean to say that there is no step process before you are fired? There is no warning system where you get warned a time or two, then fired? I find that hard to believe. Also, most employers will fire you if you screw up before you get your time in (off the probationary period).

They give you no warning. Believe what you want but I worked there for 6 months and I know how they are.

Ha so see I'm not the only freaking one. Literally late 2 minutes and was fired so there you go now what your not a Dang know it all. There is reasons they are always freaking hiring. Seriously though I had everything riding on being hired there. I'm only trying to make ppl think before they apply here. I don't want ppl to be out of a job over bullsh!t.

So let me get this correct......you get fired for being a minute or two late to work only ONE or TWO times? With no other warnings? Yet they are ALWAYS hiring? Why would Theisien not just warn you instead of having to replace you? You go thru 3 interviews before you are hired in there and everyone stresses the importance of being clocked in ON TIME. You are asked is that going to be a problem at all? I do agree with the Myspace & Facebook thing though. I was pulled into the office and Dr J threw a folder at me asked me what is this.....It was my Myspace, page by page!! He tried to make me unfriend my friends on there cause I supervised some of them. He told me I couldn't have pics of parties on there etc. I pushed it back at him told him to stop wasting damn paper on stupid stuff, that I would not close it or delete friends because that was all personal and not work related. He even went so far as to have a registered letter from his attorney sent to our house because 2 days after Jason was no longer @ Comcare, it was still listed on Jason's Myspace that his employment was Comcare. He had 24 hrs to remove the employment part. That is just a few ways that Comcare wastes valuable $$.

They do fire with out reason. I worked there for two years hadn't ever been written up or so much as talked to about a problem and I went in one day to fl to work and they told me I was no longer needed so yeah they do fire with out reason. But its okay I got unemployment

I was there for almost 3 years, and was fired while I was on vacation. I was visiting family in another state, and someone made an accusation of an incident that they claimed happened while I was away. When I returned home, there was a message on my phone telling me that I had been suspended. They called me in to the office, I explained that I was out of the state when the "supposed" incident occured, and I could provide documents proving that. Managements response was: " we can't believe that this certain person would lie, so you are terminated".

I worked there for 3 yrs I was let go cause I came to a staff meeting tried to get a pen out of my purse and my cellphone fell out and it was not turned on...i had always met all expectations I always came in when they asked me too..i honestly don't care about the let go cause I had a job the next day..comcare don't care about there staff and there saftey...i think the real reason they found a reason to get rid of me is one of tge clients hurt me and I had to go on workmans comp for a few weeks and the week rge dr released me the phone thing halpend and they let me go here is some advice don't get hurt as far as firing you for being late I dont believe that they dont care if your late tgat mean they would gave to care about staff I been in houses all of em the people showing up a hr late all the time and guess who has to stay no matter what cause they aint going to send anyone to relieve you. I loved the clients and you will too... Just learn cyoa and quick ...cover your own @ss cause people will set you out...learn who's @ss to kiss and never have opinions nod and agree you will be fine

As Winnie's friend let me say that you are correct you were selected for termination before the phone incident. Since not having a phone is a cardinal rule even on the premises it was all they needed to legally let you go. If it wasn't for the phone it would have been for some other minor infraction. Ever wonder why they always have an ad in the paper. I suspect that they get compensated for training their new hires by the state. That way they could make money on each new hire while putting them in charge of a home before their training is complete. Of course they may not give meds but they can cook and clean. Insurance usually doesn't start until after 90 days so Comcare doesn't have to pay into the insurance until after the first three months. That's probably a big savings in itself. In a nutshell any one employed for less than 90 days is an asset. Someday someone is going to call DIDD at 1-800-579-0023 and report the goings on at Comcare. An example would be the possibility that since they appear to be short of staff maybe they are moving clients around and having them spend the night in a home other than their own. That can't have a very stabilizing effect on the disabled. How would you like it if you were forced to sleep in a different bed each night. What if someone was sent to sleep in your room with you and destroyed your belongings. Your imagination can run wild with the scenerios. I wonder if men have been placed in the same home with women. Working at Comcare is a two way street the administration keeps an eye on the employees but it is necessary for the employee to do the best for their clients and friends which may include mistreatment. The employee should also be aware that smiling faces don't always tell the truth.

Are they really moving the clients around. I didn't think they could do that.
