As a ratepayer, I'm so glad to see that Pike construction is finally leaving Greeneville. Well, they must be, since Davis H. Elliott is here. I mean Pike Fired the foreman(WAYNE) who about got 2 men fried,(one was Elgin) but now he is working alone here Davis H. Elliott. Pike fired him,(WAYNE) and in the end he took the rap for GL&P, so I'm guessing thats why he is a one man crew back here with DAVIS H> ELLIOTT. We have NEVER had another contracter here, and were there any bids?

There has never been another contractor here since Dillard Smith and Why Was Wayne who had tosearch for another job, after being fired allowed to come back here through another company? really stange....

How about I start by saying that I must assume that you meant that you are a tax payer, and how much taxes could you really pay if you don't know how to speak English. It is the chosen language in the USA. How about we try to get the information correct before you decide to talk about people. Wayne is a good man, and he wasn't the only one FIRED as you say for two people causing an accident that was NOT Wayne's fault. BUT those two people that caused the accident are still working for Pike. If you really knew what you were talking about you would also know that Pike Construction is not that name of that contractor, it is Pike Electric. AND they are still in Greenville. Along with that information I must add that Wayne is also NOT a one man crew in Greenville for Davis Elliott. There was no rap for GL&P needed to be taken. With the TWO foreman that were FIRED there also lied 50+ years of experience in the Electrical Contracting field. I don't find it really STRANGE or stange as you call it that GL&P is allowing these good men to come back and work for them. As far as Elgin, he was involved and had a hand in the accident that caused 2 people to get flash burned, and while the two foremen lost their job, Elgin was promoted and moved to another area. So let's talk about fair.... shall we?

I don't look for pike to have leave greeneville and I hope they don't . Because that takes my husband away from his family! That is already gone 10 times as much as yourself or husband so that's holidays he miss with the kids and birthdays that we can never get back so let's not trash pike. So next time your power is out you will wish pike would come fix the problem!!!!!!!!!!

What Bill Carroll is doing by having Davis H Elliot in here is illegal because they have no contract and it was not bid on. The reason they are in here is because Bill Carroll and Chuck Bowlin is getting paid under thet table like Mike Finchum is with Pike I know because I work there.

I seriously doubt that. One of several reasons that Elliot is here is because for some reason Chuck Bowlin thinks that Wayne Beran does no wrong. Well, I'm here to tell you that his safety record is a little on the suspect side.

pike fired him because he and the other foreman had the men working in the rain. OSHA said fire them or receive a willful violation. So Pike fired them. I think that chuck wanted them back in here to prove to Pike that they (pike) we're not the only contractors available. And as for the contract they bid the jobs out that they were initially doing. ELLIOT won the bid on them.

My husband has been with pike for 5 yrs .. he jus recently transfered from the j.c. crew about 6 months ago and honestly if pike ELECTRIC was going anywhere we would all ready know. you ELLIOT guys wanna get on here and act like a bunch of rednecks instead of being respectful. Linemans a hard working man especially if they are like mine in the bucket all day. But any linemans wife can tell you anytime it rains snows or the wind blows to hard any part of the country we say a little prayer because some times they are gone for as long 3 weeks at a time and they have families and kids. Iv been lucky this yr only 3 storm trips .. so thanks donny lewis for not making our men leave. Usually pike has to go to another part of the country at christmas this has been the first christmas since he started working for pike that he was home.

I was a traveling lineman for 15 years before getting on with a local power company next to Greeneville so bless thier little hearts for having to travel, stop whining a choose another job then.. As far a GL&P everyone knows they are as crooked as they come. The Elliot situation was a buddy we will find a way to keep you here not to prove they were able to bring another contractor in because I know Wayne and ALL of the guys involved... Let me guess his firing and bringing in another contractor was just very good timing.... Yeah Right!!!

Do you honestly think that OSHA says fire them for receive a willful violation. Are you serious? No Pike fired them so that they could keep from paying a $3K fine, which is much less than what most of his family makes in a week I'm sure. As for Pike being a good company, are you serious? You will re-think those words when your loved ones lose their job because Ronnie Gilbert needs to make room to hire another family member of his. We all know the entire Gilbert clan has cushioned jobs with Pike. Traveling is part of the job, I have lost many holidays and birthdays with my loved ones as well. The people at GLPS are good people, and Wayne is a good person. How dare you all running your mouth say anything about these people that you don't even know. Try looking in the mirror before you judge others, and understand the situation. Those who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones.

i agree, poor poor lineman & $20 plus dollars an hour. the tree trimmers at wolf tree are the ones getting phucked! these guys get paid but the job, to where the rest of the power co boys get paid well & by the hour.

how about someone not having to be kin to someone or be a good buddy of someone at the light & power to be able to get a damn job there. if your not eather, you might as well not apply.

I think pike and Elliot are both a joke!!! That are going to get someone killed because they don't have a clue Elliott equipment is junk the foremen are a joke up to Jeff and clid that are so job scared i think if clid would stop fast Jeff could taste what clid had for lunch. then you have the biggest joke of all Jon Stevens he is there ape teacher and the biggest lire of them all He has not a clue about linework or teaching that in its self is going to get someone killed
