We use Animal Medical Center with Dr Claiborne on North Main ... good people, great service with quality care.

Definitly stay away from Dr. Claiborn. He's a hack! Any animal with a big problem will most likely die. He just lets them sit in a cage and watches them die!

I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone, but Dr. Claiborne. I'm not saying any other vets are not good, it's just I've used Dr. Claiborne for more years than I can count. He's treated everything from my puppies to all my farm animals.

My vet doesn't do the ear grooming I needed today (on Saturday) so I went to see Dr. Claiborne at his new clinic behind walmart... Folks, what a beautiful new place he has. He was FANTASTIC to talk to and spent almost an hour with us...Answered questions.. provided information...I was very very impressed with him and his clinic. He even offered, without prodding or suggesting by me, to come out to my house and see one of my dogs that is unable to be treated at a vet's office. I really liked the man.

You're so right! I've had some seriously ill or injured pets over the years and Dr Ed has always pulled through. Recently he refused to euthanize a dog that in my opinion had exhausted all medical options. Sure enough, the same animal is now doing fine following eight days of intensive treatment. He called me several times regarding her progress and allowed me to make payments by the month. Yes I had a four figure bill, but it was appropriate for the services rendered. I think Greeneville's fortunate in having several excellent vets.

Hello FOD! When are you going to get that dog show organized at the fairground? I've been waiting to see those miniature horses that you call dogs.:-)

Rocky Top is a great clinic! Both Dr. Greer and Dr. Quillen are very knowledgeable and compassionate. They are not one of the "old school" vets that believe in steroids for everything. The facility is top notch and so is the service.
I'm sorry but I have to disagree. My sister's dog lost his motivation and and refused to stand up. She took him there and they said nothing was wrong with him (not to mention they didn't even bother weighing him) and sent him home with antibiotics for his stiff belly. The very next day, her dog was dragging his legs. She rushed him to Dr. Wooley (who I recommended to her because they did an excellent job clearing up my dog's hot spots) and they told her it was pinched nerves & to take him to Knoxville Hospital immediately for the surgery he needed. The emergency room doctors found out he had a pinched spinal nerve that caused him to be paralyzed from the waist down. The antibiotics for the stomach was pointless because the stiffness in his stomach was caused by the pain he was in, not infected. If they were as good as you say, they would have done xrays and blood work and would have determined what was wrong with him. I took my angel baby to Rocky Top for shots but I will never go there again nor recommend anyone going after how they examined her dog. Obviously it was not a good job or they would have found this problem just like the other 2 doctors did.
