Has anyone but me noticed how the pavement is seperateing from the bridge structure on south greene end? They filled it up with blacktop once or twice, and it's droped 3 or 4 inches since then. Look at it if you don't believe me, look!

I saw this post, so I had to go look at it! Something is wrong, if it was off the bridge it could just be the ground sinking a bit; however it is actually on the structure of the bridge? It should not be seperating like it is, if I remember right the state said that bridge across the Mississippi river was safe, before it went down in rush hour traffic a few years ago! I think it had just been inspected as well? I doubt the County Commission has any authority to do anything, on the wild chance they would. I think there is a Federal agency just for bridges? I am going to do a little Googling, and report it Monday if there is!( I hope all my spelling was right, for you spell checkers ).

I guess then the traffic going from Greeneville to North Carolina can then be detoured down to US 25/70 in Del Rio and go across the reconstructed Wolf Creek Bridge if they should close TN 70.

I like how your comment is "supposed to be" from another person than the person who started this thread. But, you're also from Kingsport and also can't spell separating. Wow, I guess this bridge really IS getting ready to fall down!

Just call our buddy the Gov. Mr. "Screw Em Early and Screw Em Often" Haslam and he will put it right up there on the budget right behind socking 50 million dollars in the bank for his people the "Screw Em Early and Screw Em Often" crowd to spend any way they wish. He could care less if that bridge drops and takes everyone from Greene County with it as there are no Pilot Oil Stations on the Asheville Hwy.
I would hazard a guess that you are a liberal Democrat.

If somebody would make the State aware of such I'm sure they could help with preventative damage control before somebody gets sued and that would cost the State and tax payers millions. Please write your Gov. and State road dept. and let them be aware of the danger (s) if the bridge before an entire family loses their lives. Damage Control is necessary. They might shut down the bridge immediately.
