We used to have a blast talking and carrying on all the time.CB tag around town was cool too.As time passed I have lost touch with people,Hacksaw, shotgun red, sparkplug, possum, undercove r lover, hot rod, whore runner, etc.Post any you know or knew. All the bear hunters quit CB and went to phones I guess,so that should have freed up several channels, but it seems no one is on them. I'd say kids today couldn't even hook a CB up let alone tune it.

Respectfully, I believe CB's now fall into the same category as "Civil War Reenactments," "antique collecting" and "buggy whips." Long ago, CB's were the first "chat rooms." Those days are long gone. At best, there may be a handful of "enthusiasts" around, but the odds of any of them being on the air at the same time, is virtually nil.

Hacksaw cut his hand off with a saw.

Shotgun accidently shot himself and died.

Red was burned really bad in a house fire.

Sparkplug had a misfire and ended up in the mental institution.

Possum was hit by a bus and still in recovery.

Undercover Lover got married with 5 children.

HotRod crashed his car into a tree.

WhoreRunner is now a Nun.

Hope this helps!

LOL Cooter, last time I talked on a CB in 1988, "Good Buddy" was taken as calling someone a homosexual.

Didn't say when you were on CB. From 1976 to about 1980 there were several of us that would cruise Gville. Only handles I recall are Eastern Raider, Blue-Eyed Blinker (drove a blue car) and Zebra 3. Baby Doll from Surgoinsville was the hottest chick on CB at the time.

Speaking of tuning a CB, that only applied to the old tube radios or linears. The solid state ones didn't require tuning but you did have to get your SWR set for them to transmit good.

The bear hunters now use marine band VHF radios. Illegally because they are not supposed to be used for those type of communications. Cell phones don't work reliably in the mountains.

After daddy passed, it hurt so bad to hear static without daddy's voice, He really lived for cb'ing and loved his friends on it. I've heard him carry on create kaoz on his cb. I think iy hurt his friends as well and maybe some just tuned in to hear the possum sing his songs and talk in his own way. He was definately an entertainer for the cb world. God I love and miss him so, and sure the cb world does. God rest his soul.

I knew Possum fairly well, but not as well as I knew Possums daughter. My last memory of Possum was at a 'Coffee Break'. Yes I enjoyed CB as well as amateur radio through the 1970s. The only piece of my base rig still around is a D-104 microphone. It's a beautiful design and proves quite the conversation piece. My personal vehicle is wired for a peaked and tuned Galaxy. These radios have proved invaluable to me when traveling.

I would spend less time on the CB and more time studying grammar. Certainly there should have been some type of punctuation in that paragraph.

take a big step and get a ham license. It opens up a whole new world of radio.

Yeah, we have heard your fiancee talk about you. All the sordid details of what you will and won't do. Since he is on the radio all the time, we know mostly what you won't do.
Alright big boy, exactly who do you think my fiancÚ is? Is your handle internet troll?
