Republicans in Congress were apparently surprised by an unexpected action in anticipation of the expected budget cuts. The Department of Homeland Security released several hundred illegal immigrants of the 34,000 illegals currently held for deportation. Unable to pay for their continued incarceration under proposed/expected budget cuts. Can't have it both ways--Republicans want illegal immigration stopped but don't want to pay for it. Can hardly wait for the next booby-trap to go off! Spammer, come on and do it!

So who is the winner here?......im sensing u r suggesting the Democrats have a victory? I cannot understand how any party can be excited about this news. Unless u r here illegal, then i can understand your excitement.

No winner in this situation. My point, if stated badly, is that the Republicans are on record for spending cuts, period. No compromise. One unintended result of that uncompromising attitude is the resulting release of the illegals. Deportation of illegals is also very high on their agenda. My 'exitement,' as you call it is watching something like that happening. Not unexpected. No, I don't like the situation but I expect more of the same in different departments; nor am I an illegal or illegal sympathizer. Where are you spammer?

The Democratic administration released the illegals before the sequestration in order to scare people. They thought that this would force the Republicans hand. It didn't work.

The reality is that every state can/could find ways cut their spending if they really wanted to w/o affecting as many people. To me this is just a knee jerk reaction and they are counting on the shock value to help them.If they were serious about it they would make each state look at what they can live w/o,starting at the bottom of the list and working up instead of starting at the top.

It is a lousy 2% of the budget, half from Defense and half from discretionary domestic spending. Big deal.

Not a defense of the action in any way but the White House stated career ICE administrative staff authorized the release because of budget considerations. Exact Congressional Republican response, except for bluster, nil for the moment. Still waiting for other budget cut unpleasantries. Spammer, looking for you.

Why incarcerate them? Kill them. I wouldn't't be downing the republicans too much. Basically all illegals are democrats. Hang in there with your kind.

There's no need to act on a tentative budget cut until it occurs. They can't pay for their continued incarceration? What a joke. More than likely they are out of room. Maybe Bob Woodward can speak to this unless he's still receiving threats from Obama staffers for speaking the truth. Google it.

The White House says a lot of things. Do you really believe every thing that they say? Do you drink all of the Koolaid?

Or maybe just the simple truth.

Prove me wrong. Pure republican voted states have done a flip with all the mexicans that have moved in. Not my perception. It is a proven fact.

Could the Mexicans be moving in because the Republican states are prosperous and have jobs available, unlike Michigan, Illinois, etc?

They may be, but they won't be republican states for long. I actually don't believe there will be another republican president, until the republicans become more liberal. That's the way the world has turned.

Do you really want one party rule? You had better think about that. That is how Hitler came to be.

The key phrase is 'more liberal,' NOT going over entirely to the Democrats. Opposing political philosophies are needed for government growth and strength for the nation as a whole; pigheaded opposition on principle rather than for the good of the country is detrimental. Be it Democrat or Republican!
