So what is your opinion on this guy?

I can agree with him regarding privacy. At the same time I wonder if he could have handled it some other way than go to the media. I don't know though Im not him. Either way, he must have felt pretty strongly about the subject.

How does Edward Snowden answer about being called a traitor?

"If I defected at all, I defected from the government to the people."

The short answer ... the jury is still out. Yes, he should have done it different. He should have joined with all the rest of the American citizens who are also trying to expose the CORRUPTION in 'our' government, before revealing what he discovered.

From what I understand the majority of Americans believe he deserves clemency.

If he had stayed, he would have been jailed and imprisoned for life (and most likely would have conveniently died of "natural causes"). He had no choice but to defect. He revealed just how corrupt our government is. Risking his life to protect the rights and liberty of the American people defines patriot.

You have to keep in mind, he worked for them spying on us for years. He is no better. I have a hard time thinking he did this out of pure good faith. He has other motives than just cleaning his conscience.

If he hadn't have come forward with what he knows, we would still be in the dark about all this, so yeah he done good.

100% American patriot. He stood and continues to stand tall for The Constitution where others failed.

Good points except I have to wonder if he could have been in a situation like many government (including military) personnel who don't know the whole picture. Many times the gov only gives u a specific assignment & you don't know the whole scope. He might not have known the entire scope of a broad spy operation for quite some time. Also, he may have not known what to do with the information once he did. He was in a no win situation for sure. All that being said, I praise him for outting the gov.

I believe it's worth a second glance. Since the airing of this broadcast more are looking at his actions in a different light. He shouldn't have stolen the documents, he should have found other whistle blowers and joined in their efforts to speak against the corruption in our government.

He did try to go through the proper channels, but it was dismissed .. and for good reason obviously. He was told, "Yeah, maybe we shouldn't be do it this way. If you say something about this they are going to destroy you and you should stop asking questions."

The American people want to know about this. He is being demonized without fully knowing the extent he went to exposing this deceit. The question remains .. how much (if anything) has he told our enemies? What does Putin know of all this?

That you would hang the modern day Paul Revere speaks deeply of your character, or lack thereof.

Well why we don't know what, if anything, he told the so-called enemy, we do know what he has told the American people that our enemy government was doing to US.(Like my play on US/United States?) I'm thankful to know about the gov invading & jeopardizing my rights to privacy. Thanks Snowden!

Is he Paul revere or Benedict Arnold? Paul revere protected America from foreign forces. I'm not so sure snowden has done the same thing.

What's not to be sure about? We've received warning with regard to a very serious attack on the American way of life, which is Liberty, and the defense of it. Looks pretty damned cut and dried to me!

He put thousands of lives at risk and exposed more than just the government. I would have to vote traitor. Why else would he hide in Russia and not just come back to the states?
