I have heard so much about Greeneville's lack of maturity.
If you take a cause and effect look at it, why are the people so
crude and rude? A clue could be found in the literacy and education levels of the bad ones. The town should look at the educational services and how literacy could be improved.
Turn this subject around into a socisl no-no and watch how people might either change or ask for education.
Could be that only the unemployed are in this class.
A good campaign on literacy might mean job growth.
Remember "cause and effect" and don't let go.

This is Topix, man. This is neither the time, nor the place, for serious discussion. Take it to another venue, please.

Ask around and find out how many college graduates are currently not able to find a job in this town within their field. So, they work a crap job. I feel it is more of a small population and everyone knows everyone kind of thing. Even on Andy Griffith the townspeople were nosey as hell and silly. Surely you wouldn't go as far as calling them uneducated?:)

Also, you have to keep in mind. There are a lot of older people around here that had to quit school before they even got to high school, due to the family needing support. Education is a bit of the problem, but I wouldn't write that off as the reason people around here can't keep their nose out of each others lives.

The stereotype is so wrong for greeneville. I have met so many well versed and educated people on this forum. Nothing wrong with being silly. That doesn't mean uneducated. In fact the people with the best sense of humor is usually the most intelligent. You have to be smart to think outside the box.

Well said. I agree and I still say Shemp Sharpe is likely the most intelligent person on the forum.
