I imagine whoever was complacent with cleaning the room was reprimanded, the hospital was called out publicly and will obviously be more vigilant about prepping rooms for awhile, the local news media got a two minute news "filler" on a slow news day and mom got her five minutes of fame (or infamy) but wasn't the catalyst for all this "activity" a sick child? I can only hope they received the proper medical treatment wherever they eventually ended up whether it be another medical facility, the Pediatrician's office or a Walgreen's OTC aisle.

i can sympathize with the person you all are calling "hateful bitch". you have no idea how stressful it can be to take orders from your supervisor, your doctor, your hospital policy, upset patient, angry family members, ect. lay off and agree that if you could do it better, then you would go to school and do so. no one on this earth is perfect.

When I am sick, my child is sick or my parent is sick .... I certainly do not want someone with such an attitude "taking care" of us. I want someone with more of a caring, gentle and calm attitude.

I have so much to say that I don't know where to begin. Do you all have young children? If so then you know children tend to become sicker in the night. Especially with things like bronchitis. If you're child needs a breathing treatment and you don't own a nebulizer would you tell your child they had wait till morning to breath easier because it's not a "real emergency"? That's medical neglect. He could have been suffering from low 02 saturation and that is an emergency! She didn't have a pulse ox reader at home either. The child was placed in a room with multiple spots of blood. Moved to another Which Also Had A Bloody Floor. So the CHILD was placed in a third room that had blood on the floor along with mucus covered tissues on the floor. The child needed the rest room and there was blood all over that floor as well. The few drops shown on the news was not all there was. The news showed neither interview in it's entirety. I would have left too! He had gotten a "breathing treatment". He did see his pediatrician the following day.
I do not understand how people think universal precautions do not apply to all hospital staff. You can't be ignorant to why that's such a big deal. Surely you would expect better for your own loved ones. They should employ house keepers round the clock. People don't stop bleeding or being ill at 4 o'clock each day. I'm not knocking housekeeping CNAs or nurses. LMH's president lied when he said that was the first complaint in 30 years. I complained once myself three years ago. That hospital can afford round the clock housekeeping. Any staff who sees blood is responsible for cleaning it. That's unacceptable. I don't care how you feel about the mother, there's no love lost between her and myself. That little boy means the world to me. She did the right thing taking him. She did right in complaining and in taking him out of there. As for the tn care comment. The child is covered by private insurance, not that it matters. All people deserve clean hospitals! The interview made a serious issue look like it was insignificant. Wjhl begs people for stories about your child school lunch and no one is on here talking about those complaints yet you attack someone who complains about the possible spread of disease in what should be a clean environment. Only on Greeneville Topix! Btw had a relative go in for heart surgery. Went great. Except the fact that his good heart tissue was infected with staph during surgery. Which required another operation. He did not survive the second surgery. Still think dirty hospitals are ok!

It is easy to say it is everyone's responsibility to clean up the blood. But everyone is always going to expect someone else to clean it up. Everyone has a designated job to do. They are giving medicine or doing lab work or giving breathing treatments or cleaning poop off patients or doing tons of paperwork. If Noah himself walked into the ER and saw pools of blood he wouldn't clean it up. He would call someone to clean it up. The hospital staff is supposed to block off the contaminated area and cover up any spills and then call housekeeping. If Noah saw vomit on the floor that is exactly what he would do. Housekeeping staff should be scheduled to work around the clock. Their sole purpose is to keep the place clean. That is the only thing they have to do. If they don't have housekeepers all night then it's no wonder their hospital is dirty.
