Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I'm not as bright as I would like to be, therefore, could someone please explain this to me in simple terms? I'm a bit worried because this is the bank where I have my checking, savings and CDs. Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.

As I understand it... Heritage was started by a few wealthy individuals who wanted an "exclusive" club of stockholders ... i.e, large set investment instead of offering individual shares to the public. WELL - all of those stockholders are being asked to put more money in per FDIC reg's and ONE of those stockholders is being asked to put more money to meet the FDIC requirements for capital... and right now due to the car business being what is it, he "ain't" got the $$$$$... I also have accounts there but even if the Bank fails, the FDIC would take over and you would be protected under their (FDIC) program. BTW - if this is not correct or there is a different view of the situation, I'd love to know the story...

So they even have their own bank huh? If you have to ask about their checking fees you can't afford it!

its been my experience..the people who have the most money in the bank fuss about any kind of fee, and want the lowest interest rates, its people like me that pay the fees they are asked and pay the interest rates the loans require..its the haves and have nots..the haves..have more..the have nots..don't...

If you can tell anything about a place of business by the way they handle their USUAL free services, here might be an indication... at the downtown Branch this Friday, there were just a couple of cookies and only two types of cookies in the usually filled cookie plate and NO coffee ! Hmm... are they cutting back on "customer perks" ???

The Greeneville Sun also never reported about Niswonger selling more than 175,000 shares of GreenBank stock back in April after not agreeing with the banks management as of late. We all had to rely on the Knoxville News Sentinel to air out Greeneville's dirty laundry.

My point was directly about the bias Sun reporting. It's a fact that any bad news with ties to the local big wigs in this town has to be approved by the owners John Jones or his boy John Jr. There has been plenty of high profile dirt that's gone on in this town that should have been reported that never made it to print.
