Can a man go to jail for not paying his child support?

look enough everyone. The bottom line is a parent rather mother or father should pay child support. When we bring a kid to this world we know the consequences therfor there are no excuses.

in that case why is holly ricker should be under the jail she is so far behind,her family has her daughter,her son she gave up his father has custody of him,a lot of people don't even know she has a son,she is suppose to be paying child support,but hers all goes for drugs and neddles,every body in Greene County Tn.knows that to,you never see her with same clothes on like you do for people that have no income but she is always dressed like a million dollers,would like to buy her for what she is worth,a sorry ass mother,and sell her for what she thinks she is worth.enough said.that should tell it all

that must just be in some place's sure not in Greeneville,Tn,cause holly ricker owes over 5 thousands in child support,was picked up one time paid the fine and court cost of 1 thousdand and went scot free,so what does any body think about that,it sucks,but that is Greene county tn.I think a mother should have to pay more than a father

No no but he## no a person does not go to jail for not paying support my kid s dad is over 30000 behind and they set up a court date didn't mail me a letter till the day of court. Dropped what he owes my girls to just a little o over 8000 and dropped his monthly payment from 800 to $110 a month. Nothing from nothing is still nothing and that's what my girls get. But this mom will make sure they get what they need with out him they know who really cares

When my ex got pregnant, I was 19. I had substantial savings at that point, so I rented her an appartment and furnished it for her at a cost of $7000, two months before the child was born. I had always used protection and spermicide and doubted the child was mine. After the baby was born, I purchased two home DNA tests from two different provinces (Canada) and they both came up as "100% not a match".

At this point, I broke up with her and stopped paying her bills. A few months later, I was brought to court. My paternity tests were inadmissable in court and I was informed that this would not make a difference anyhow, since I had already been supporting the child. A court ordered and properly supervised test was done and, once the results came back, the court agreed that I am not the father.

My ex has since moved in with the biological father of the child and they have a home together around 1200km away. This was 6 years ago, and I still pay child support, to the tune of $800 a month. I pay this to AN INTACT BIOLOGICAL FAMILY. Think about that for just a second....

I wont buy any of the bull about how men and women are subject to the same treatment by the family courts. They sure do on paper in the law books, but the reality is, the courts still treat women as children.

And they wonder why they aren't taken as seriously by society?!

I don't understand why baby mammas should get child support when they don't want the father to have anything to do with the child. My husband is going thru that. If we were able to have a relationship with the child we would be more than willing to give more than child support expecs I think its all fucked up. It takes 2 to have a baby. Not just the man. Especially when she tells him she was on birth control. Now she is pregnant with her boyfriends baby. All she wants now is to see my husband fail. When she is just fine with her new baby dady

Holly Ricker has never been put in jail for child support,Been caught with drugs,going to court for Violation,will just get a slap on the hand like always,and that is a known fact,gets away with any thing she does

I totaly agree with the person who said they don't need to go to jail they need to put a ball and chain to their leg put their a-- on a farm work them about 16 hours a day untill their child support has been paid if they had the fun getting the child let them have the fun suporting them they can buy drugs but their childern eat free at school

What about the mother receiving child support and taking the man to court for more and not care bout if the father has a job or not. Are the mom's right are import to the court decision.
What about the fathers right, why always the mom are the victims. They were agree to have a baby and they always chose with who they will prefers to have the baby. This is not just the man faults ladies should take responsibilities of their action.

I had my daughter from a pervious marriage ,My father daughter is a deadbeat dad, he's almost 19,000 behind!! All the state did so far was taken his drivers Id away. He pays here and there every couple months/ years...all the state say "as long he making some sort of payment there's not much we can do" not I don't care about getting child support from him because I manage for the past 8years to rasie my daughter with out any help from her father or his family.
just makes me sad for mothers/fathers who working so hard to rasie their children they don't see a dime!!! What's the point of having kids if you can't even taken care of yourself..........
