Question? If a psycho posts a pic on facebook accusing an innocent person of physically assaulting them, is that not illegal? Isn't it considered destroying someones character? Especially when they are a manipulative, lying, psycho path that's with a needle junkie!!!

Look up the laws on slander.

You sound like me! If you're an adult they can get you for filing a false instrument; but, juveniles are protected and encouraged by the Child Protective Services (DCS)! That agency has the power to deny rights at any point in time. Send them BACK to school to learn how to conduct an investigaton!

So I am posting to ask if any computee smarr type people can help me out here. What happened is a friens of mine who doesn't have FaceBook was told she should stop posting her personal life of FaceBook. The thing is she cannot find the facebook page because the fake page with her name and picture has her blocked. She contacted FB , they 've been looking into it. So how can someone put up a page with old pictures and get away with it. We suspect its her ex or exes obsessed lovee because they're trying to make her look coo coo. So from what her friends say she is posting calling her ex gay, queer, child molester etc etc ... The authorities have been contacted but should FB be reaponsible in some way ? Advice please on fake facebooks

And "notafan" is right. Facebook is legally protected. You may have said but are they using her image? Legally if they are using her name you wouldn't get very far unless they have a very explicit intent that can be proven.... How detailed have they gotten in pretending to "be" her?

People do those things, but IP addresses were likely linked once reported.

I will tell you that the DA here will do not a dang thing to help you! A person (I suspect a female due to the nature of how personal it got) made a FB w/name of BetterThanYou. She used cartoon pics as her profile pic and an edited cartoonish pic as her cover pic. With saying of how trashy Greeneville is w/inbreds living here etc. Then she took one of my pics of my girls & grandson. One of my daughters was only 16 in the pic & the grandson wasn't 2. She photoshopped it to say some very rude & negative things. I contacted her thru fb msg & she started ranting for days about some crazy sh!t. Threats included. I printed all, pics too and took to Cecil Mills. He looked it over, had me come in for a meeting to say basically there is nothing that can be done since we don't really know who this person is. Wouldn't search IP address or anything.
