GVDC Political Scandal

Steve Love, Lynda Overholt, Garland Reaves and David Kinser in conjunction with TSEA all actively campaigned for David Hawk in the recent election. These are all members of the management team at GVDC. Why would management along with TSEA actively support David Hawk when it was Eddie Yokley several years ago who went to Governor Bredesen and made a personal appeal to save people's jobs from a proposed layoff and GVDC was not even in Eddie's district but Hawk's district. Eddie was successful and those people did not lose their jobs. After Eddie was not reelected another layoff was proposed and many, many people lost jobs in David Hawk's district. Management and David I assume got what they wanted after Yokley was gone. TSEA initially came out against but then supported the civil service changes which pretty much stript all employees of protection against cronyism and political patronage and punishment, something which plagued state government severely through Ray Blanton and the first part of Lamar Alexander's terms of Governorship. There is a very unholy alliance between Management at GVDC, David Hawk, TSEA and the Republican Government of Tennessee. What they have planned since Hawk has won is not, I repeat is not in the best interest of employees at GVDC or the clients who live there. I strongly urge all members of TSEA at GVDC to drop your membership in TSEA immediately as they are using your precious dues money to take away your benefits, your rights and your jobs. TSEA is the penultimate TROJAN HORSE!!!!!

Are you dumb? David Hawk is the one that helped save the jobs more than Yokley could ever imagine. Hate to burst your bubble but Garland Reaves does not work there. David Kinser has no active involvement with TSEA. They put the same names in the TSEA Co-Worker whether they actually do something or not. When the petitions were being signed Eddie left the iris festival as fast as he could. David has been the top advocate for that place even when they couldn't reach an agreement to save the jobs a second time. People that weren't even employeed with GVDC were helping save jobs during the second time and where was Eddie! Not helping GVDC that's for sure. I lost my job but called back and I'm very thankful. Steve Love fought harder than Eddie Yokley could even imagine.

David Hawk had zero influence with Phil Bredesen and he was the Governor who changed his mind after Yokley made a personal appeal. It was Hawk who could not or would not save the jobs after Yokley had been defeated. There is documented evidence for the rest with TSEA, if it is false then have them correct it, until they do it stands. Having TSEA use your name in their publications is the same as giving your endorsement for the candidate so you had better tell these people to stop them from using their names. The last I heard Garland was involved with the Houses which were built, that is the same as working with GVDC until someone else takes them over. If he has retired, quit or been fired then I stand corrected.

There is a war going on at GVDC for control of the facility. Right now the place is running on autopilot and has lost its purpose. People cannot figure out why so much money is being spent on renovating the place when most people think it is closing down. Many employees worked for Hawk thinking he would keep control of the place in Greeneville. Not going to happen, a losing proposition even with Hawk in Nashville.

As for Steve Love, he fought and fights for himself and a few of his friends and allies, the rest of the employees at GVDC he could care less about. His megalomania is scary at times.

Ask about all the meetings between Hawk and Love at McDonalds. Ask about all the late night phone calls between the two. Hawks vote is what stripped TSEA teachers of collective bargaining. They talk out of both sides of their mouths! True politicians!

Why do they have a Team Leader and a cottage leader (really a DTS 2) then the DTS 1 in charge? Am I missing something? Shouldn't the DTS 2 have to be in charge on the other weekend instead of taking a DSP off the floor making that weekend shorter? Some things don't add up out there.

Haha! Are you for real? TSEA backed Hawk because he's the one who stood up to keep our jobs. There are sooooo many more members of TSEA that backed him than the few you mentioned, including myself. There is no scandal, it was just what was best for all of us. Do you have any clue what it's going to do to Greene Co. once all GVDC jobs are gone? Think about it before you come up with another long winded post of gibberish over nothing.

I don't remember your name helping during any of that. I know who did and who turned the other cheek.

And to the post before this one. It's a new way to manage in the buildings.

teamleader job is very hard and sucks but at least it is a job..always your fault..have to take blame for everyone in your building..you expected to fix everything.. some staff have no job ethics..some staff good people..hard work for little pay..on duty 24/7 365/yr. believe me, teamleaders need all the help they can get.

The senior execs at GVDC sat through the whole trial to see Hawkster be found guilty. We're they on the clock then?
