was not a pleasant one. I moved to Greene Co. from civilization and found a "justice system" where a crooked cop will protect a guy arrested 9 times for domestic assault (that's called a "woman beater").
What should have been his 10th arrest for assault instead saw a woman (beaten in front of her 2 small children) arrested. She had 0 arrests (he had 26). Whose word would you take?
a) Career criminal with 26 arrests?
b) Mother of 2 small children w/0 arrests?
She was arrested inside the Greene County Sherrif's Dept while looking for a copy of the incident report. Have you ever heard of a criminal that goes down to the police dept to inquire about the report?
Yes it's beautiful in places. Yes there are meth-heads, pill-heads and horrible people. Some of them are in the "Good Old Boys Network".
May God help you if you have the bad luck to cross somebody (even a meth-head/pill-head) who is "in the network". They can do whatever they want w/out repercussions. If you are "connected", you can beat up a woman in front of her 2 small children and the deputy will arrest the victim.
Then he will slap the career criminal on the back in the courthouse in front of everybody. This "man" didn't even have the decency to pretend to be professional and neutral. He practically hugged the 9 time woman beater like they were long lost pals. I saw this with my own eyes.
Just ask Jason Taylor. He's the incompetent deputy who has now been promoted to Detective. If your wife gets attacked by a pill head, he'll arrest her.
Hey Jason Taylor: If you didn't become a law enforcement officer to protect women and children from meth-heads....why did you become a cop?
I'd like to hear the answer to that question.
If you want to chance living in place like Greeneville, may God help you. Don't think it can't happen to you, because it can. I know.
I'm writing a book about what happened and I can't wait for the world to know about Jason Taylor and this "justice" system in Greene County.

Yep. Most of my high school class does not live in Greeneville anymore. They went to college and went on to different things with more opportunities in new cities. I think I only have about 2 friends that still live in town. The few that stayed behind either didn't have the chance to leave or just love it too much.
It's a shame there are not more opportunities so the bright ones from Greeneville could return to their hometown. I believe that is what Niswonger has intended with his scholarships, but I don't think it has quite worked out. And, let's be honest, a lot of the good ole boy network do not want someone coming in "thinking they are better than them" because they went to college outside of Greene County.
