The Ku Klux Klan, Terrorist Wing of the Democratic Party

by Michael Zack

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) has falsely accused the Tea Party of having ties to the Ku Klux Klan. Speaking at the NAACP convention, she said:“All those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them off to wear Tea Party clothing.”

Now is the time to speak some Truth to Power.

It would have been far more truthful for the congresswoman to have admitted the fact that all those who wore sheets a long time ago lifted them to wear Democratic Party clothing. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan was established by the Democratic Party. Yes, the Ku Klux Klan murdered thousands of Republicans — African-American and white — in the years following the Civil War. Yes, the Republican Party and a Republican President, Ulysses Grant, destroyed the KKK with their Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871.

How did the Ku Klux Klan re-emerge in the 20th century? For that, the Democratic Party is to blame.

It was a racist Democrat President, Woodrow Wilson, who premiered Birth of a Nation in the White House. That racist movie was based on a racist book written by one of Wilson’s racist friends from college. In 1915, the movie spawned the modern-day Klan, with its burning crosses and white sheets.

Inspired by the movie, some Georgia Democrats revived the Klan. Soon, the Ku Klux Klan again became a powerful force within the Democratic Party. The KKK so dominated the 1924 Democratic Convention that Republicans, speaking truth to power, called it the Klanbake. In the 1930s, a Democrat President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, appointed a Klansman, Senator Hugo Black (D-AL), to the U.S. Supreme Court.

In the 1950s, the Klansmen against whom the civil rights movement struggled were Democrats. The notorious police commissioner Bull Connor, who attacked African-Americans with dogs and clubs and fire hoses, was both a Klansman and the Democratic Party’s National Committeeman for Alabama. Starting in the 1980s, the Democratic Party elevated a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV), to third-in-line for the presidency.

Democrats enact their 'black codes' to oppress African-Americans

Black_codes_2

On this day in 1865, the Democrat-controlled legislature of Mississippi passed the nation's first "black codes." These were laws that Democrats of the post-Civil War South enacted to impose near-slavery on African-Americans.

According to these Democrat laws, African-Americans could not:

vote
serve on juries
testify against white people
own guns
travel without permission
assemble for political purposes
own farmland
be outdoors at night
change jobs without permission

Democrats decreed that all African-Americans had to:

sign annual labor contracts with white masters
be deferential to all white people
be apprenticed (in practice, enslaved) to white masters until adulthood
work only in agriculture and a few other occupations

After winning a two-thirds majority in Congress, Republicans swept away the black codes by passing, over the veto of Democrat President Andrew Johnson, the 1866 Civil Rights Act and other Reconstruction legislation. These laws guaranteed full civil rights to African-Americans, many of whom then entered politics. As Democrats regained control of the South in the 1870s, they again oppressed African-Americans with a new set of regulations known as 'Jim Crow' laws.

Interesting and informative. Slight correction per WILSON, by A. Scott Berg, pp 347--351. The Clansman, by Thomas Dixon, Jr, was written in 1905 The movie of the same name (subtitled The Birth of A Nation), was shot in 1914. Dixon, an old friend of Wilson's did indeed seek a Presidential endorsement of the film. Wilson, still mourning the death of his first wife, declined to attend a theatre, "but he was not averse to a small unpublicized viewing."
THE CLANSMAN premiered at Clune's Auditorium in Los Angeles on February 8, 1915. "Then, on February 18,(1915), Wilson and his daughters and his Cabinet gathered in the East Room for the first running of a motion picture in the White House." When word spread of the private screening, Presidential endorsement was assumed. Wilson never publicly reviewed, nor expressed any sentiment on, the film.
About the time the film premiered in New York City, on March 3, 1915, the title of the film, THE CLANSMAN, was changed permanently in favor of the subtitle: THE BIRTH OF A NATION.

I didn't know this. But ... the more I read and learn ..... the more I discover that I don't know.:) I wish I had a photographic memory where I could instantly recall things I have read in the past. I search for truth as I read ... whether it supports my position or not. If the knowledge I have on a topic is wrong .... if someone will prove to me I am wrong buy using truth and facts ..... I will change my opinion.

It just makes me mad when a lie is told over and over again to the point people begin to believe it. Just lay out the facts and the truth and people who actively seek it .... will find it. That being said ... I have been wrong on a lot of things .... but lay the truth out there and I will concede :)

and for the liberals .... profit is not evil. Greed is.
