So how many California dwellers just felt at home with the tremor? My first thought was "oh crap, Big Foot is really married & his 12 ft angry wife is coming to bust my ass, shaking the ground with her every step."

Oh, honey, I was just teasing about the track but there has been a lot more folks than normal out there every evening lately. Maybe since the time change and the weather's cooled down, people are adjusting their walk/run schedules. Whatever the reason...EXERCISE people!
@FriendOfDog
A nice glass of wine and some upscale bar food is something I really miss about a bigger city too. The first bar I walked into around here was the Hyperion, I sat down, asked if they has a nice Cabernet Sauvignon they'd recommend and the bartender was obviously clueless. This is beer and burger country I've found out, which is alright to from time to time. I avoid red meat and try to stick with seafood or chicken but what red blooded American doesn't need their occasional burger fix?
@BookChick
I agree about hitting the ignore button in Cyberland and real time but sometimes enough is enough. This is the only forum (and I've used A LOT) that I'm aware of that even allows posting without registration or some kind of monitoring so folks can hit and run, flame, spam, abuse or just whatever, with 0% accountability. It makes me think of some unruly child running through a store, knocking things off shelves and creating general chaos except in real time such foolishness wouldn't be tolerated for long. Go Blue!
@Watching17
It sounds like the same gentleman but I wouldn't feel comfortable about revealing his name on here. Another acquaintance mentioned he'd ran for some political office here at one time but I don't know where he lives other than somewhere out in the county. He seemed like a nice guy though. I've met quite a few retired law enforcement officers in the area. I guess it takes one to know one or could it be that faint odor of pork? Oh, c'mon honey, gloat a little, you know Bama has this one in the bag, 12th man and all! GO DAWGS!
I'm saving all my strutting and gloating for your Dawgs, at least on of us will go into the championship unbeaten.:)

Very true. Many of the nightmarish family dynamic stories leave me thankful I have no husband/kids. However, when I see a seemingly happy family I think how truly happy I am for them & feel just a tiny tinge of envy. "SEEMINGLY HAPPY" are the operative words in those observations.

Funny you all have joked about taking popcorn & watch the singles. The day I was there, NO JOKE, a young lady was sitting on a bench with a hoody pulled up & glasses on seemingly watching everything. I wanted to FOGL (fall on ground laughing). Can't you just make the visual of twenty women all dressed up, hair & make up done while at a track, chasing after this trooper man. Personally, my more competitive side might take advantage of "Future x wife's" stilettos & accidentally bump into her in turn four as we race after him. Who can blame a girl for eliminating a competitor, right? Maybe we gals should compete roller derby style & charge admission!(See I'm always thinking of how I can make more money to keep up able bodied "citizens" who need cell phones, cable & shrimp on my dime.) My soap box commentary reminded me I have laundry waiting.... LOL
You are cracking me up, I may join Pretend on the bench for this event! I will be the one eating pork skins, and drinking RC cola. We may need EMS on stand by but give it all you've got!

I was sitting on my front porch about the time this occurred and didn't feel a thing. I guess you had to be inside the house, huh? I wished it would have shaken the rest of the leaves off my trees though.(-:

LOL...unfortunately for me, you'll probably get your chance to gloat plenty...then miracles have been known to occur. GO DAWGS!(-:

Enough football for today...or until kickoff at 7:00 anyway, time for fresh air and exercise!!!(-:

Given all these women running after you, I'm surprised there is a single leaf left on your tree. Looks like they would have been shaken off by now. Oh that's right, I haven't had the opportunity to shake your tree so your tree has leaves aplenty. BAHAHAHAHAHA

Ummm, I cannot believe what I am seeing right now. 20-0 Texas a&m. I just told my dad that this reminds me of the Iron Bowl game from 2 years ago when Alabama jumped out on Auburn. Time to see if McCarron can lead a team from behind.

Daaammmn! I just got home and the Auggies beat the Tide?!?! Seriously, YES, I'm shocked! A close one last week at LSU too so Georgia just keeps getting stronger and the mighty Tide seems to be losing some of it's mojo. Maybe dreams really do come true, huh, Watching17? LOL!(-:

Talking SEC football, I'm mad for Vol fans at Coach Dooley! He better thank his lucky stars he's not the Dawgs coach because when they lost to South Carolina, they egged Mark Richt's house, rolled his yard and he even received a few death threats! Can you imagine what they'd do to Derek. Seriously though, he's gotta GO!

Oh, Nita! Although I am able to conquer basically any given task wearing stilettos, I also have my Nikes.(-8
Fortunately for you, I have no interest in trooper. I prefer men who are a few years younger than myself. Perhaps I am much too picky, but I'm terrified of Bigfoot's big feet (although big feet are supposed to be a plus). I absolutely cannot find interest in the man whose physical attributes are limited to eyebrows and two toenails (or lack of toes). I do think there are other men who have stepped forward, but have failed to capture my interest. I do, however, agree with whomever posted that you and trooper would hit it off. You should hit that track again! It seems that he is very easy to find. It also seems that he desires to be "found." Go, Nita, go!(-8

Did you notice the new AP top 25 today, Watching? Alabama dropped to #4! I still think they could take any of the top three though regardless of W-L ratio. If you live in the South, you gotta root for the SEC!(-:

I figured you did, FOD. Even if it's a team I don't like, if it's an SEC team going against any other conference, for that game anyway, I'm a fan!(-:

Wonder where all the interlopers, foreigners and trespassers went from this thread?!?!?!(-:

Still here. But our common ground ends when it comes to the SEC. Living here I have to follow and know about the sec and especially UT but I am not a huge fan of it. I respect it. They have the best athletes in the county but I think sometimes they get the benefit of the doubt because they are the SEC. I realize 6 titles in a row deserves some respect but Texas A&M jumping Florida State? There is a definite bias towards the SEC. Some of it is deserved but some of it goes a little too far.

Do you really need to ask..lol. I don't know where McCarrons head is at but he sure didn't have it in the game. Yes SEC all the way and whatever happens, I just hope ND isn't in the picture. I'm thinking about sending McCarron a pretty pair of crimson panties since he throws like a girl! I'm trying to calm down but everytime I think about that game, I get mad all over again. Ok deep breath.
