County Jail inmates are in a different system than state prison inmates or federal prisoners. Different laws rules, and procedures apply in all 3 systems.

If the "in mates" were so worried about getting fresh air, they shouldn't have been out thieving, whoring, snorting, stealing, shooting up, driving drunk, etc. They could have had all the fresh air they wanted. It's a little hard to work up sympathy for the idiots in the orange jump suits.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Free meals, free room and board, how much more help do they need?
Just goes to show how much you know about jail...there are no free meals or free rooms...Inmates are charged $15 a day and they definitely do not get what that $15 pays for at all.

Just shows what you know about jail. Federal and State prisoners get it free. Looks like the dumb, want to be criminals, would do a real crime and their meals and rooms would be free!

Furthermore, I have no idea what you think $15 a day would pay for, but they are getting a bargain at that. Food, electricity, water, clothes, medicine, nurse visits. Where can you get all this for $15 a day. Not to add, that most of these dead beats never pay their $15 a day. Some of them must think it is a bargain, they seem to keep going back!

Yes state and federal are not charged but most housed there are on misdemeanor time and do get charged for it, however they are covered by $65 a day and are not treated any better than the rest. My 300 days spent there is costing me dearly and yes I am responsible for paying my dues which are being paid. The $15 a day charge does not include medicine or nurse/doctor visits those are charged separately. The only clothes provided are stripes, anything else has to be bought on commissary which costs an inmate dearly as well, most people like wearing a t-shirt and underwear, don't you? The money they make off the e-cigs alone would be able to provide better things for them. I would love to own stock in Bob Barker since everything for the jail is bought through that company. All of the money that is made in any form there, whether it be fines or commissary or state funding, should be spent in a better manner than how it is. The best improvements they could make is the food and mats used for bedding. I am fully aware that it is jail and you are there for punishment however there could be some major improvements made in very small ways that could make a huge impact on the living conditions for inmates. In my opinion and probably the majority would be the food, there is no reason healthier selections and bigger portions could not be provided with the money that is made there. Most inmates are not fortunate enough to be able to purchase commissary or a lot of it so unless you are able to buy commissary you do go hungry most of the time. So unless you have ever been there you really do not know what you are talking about anything being a bargain nor does anyone keep going back just for the perks of being in jail. Although some are provided more there than they are on the streets which is a choice made by that person not to improve their life. So until you have actually had to spend even one night in there,$15 a day will never be a bargain!!!!

I assure that I have been in there for a pretty good stay back years ago when I was a very stupid person. One tour was plenty enough for me. If it were pleasant, I probably would of wanted to go back, so I am thankful that it was not. If you are wanting conditions to get better then you must be planning on returning. I would much rather my tax dollars be spent on paving the roads in front of my house than improving the place that you obviously are planning on staying in again. If the conditions are that bad, which I believe they are, it's simple, don't go back!

Why should taxpayers have to support this kind of trash anyway if they have done anything bad as in drinking and driving 3rd or 4th offense or anything worse just go ahead and kill them

Yeah, that doesn't seem right. Murderers and rapists in prison get to go outside every day, as long as they aren't on lockdown for behavior reasons obviously.
Maybe it will make them think and they want do whatever they did it again, how can you feel sorry for them they did it to themselves

I have an idea, how bout the ones in there stop getting arrested. There is a lot of people I don't like and things that I want that I can't afford. However I am not going to go out and beat up someone or steal BECAUSE I don't want to go to jail. And as for the idiot that says innocent until guilty, they have a bond. Unless its a domestic then they have to see judge first. Maybe if they were working or at home with there family they wouldn't have there arse in jail. Quit your complaining
