Seems to me the people responsible for letting any child go hungry would be that child's parents. The parents are the ONLY ones responsible for providing for their children. There is no justification for taking money from the person who EARNS it and handing it to someone who did not earn it and does not deserve it no matter what their sad little sob story is.

The RESPONSIBLE people work to EARN a paycheck to buy their own food and feed their own children. Key words there are "work" and "EARN". Maybe the parents of all these hungry children you people keep whining about should get busy and take care of their own family. If your children are hungry and you're looking for someone to blame, go look in the mirror, maybe you'll get a clear picture of who is guilty of not feeding your kid.

Poor hungry children whose parents are drug tested out of future work still need to get fed . How much tax dollars did we waste in Iraq ? How many tax dollars do we sent to foreign aid in other countries . I say American children come first . Tax breaks to the rich be damned .

So we won't mention the lack of jobs that can pay WELL ENOUGH to support an entire family. We won't mention that even with 2 working parents, citizens still barely scrape by without higher education. As a whole, the nation should just overindulge in a feast and close the blinds to keep the faces of starving Americans hidden, correct? The poor are no longer JUST people who do not work and live off of the government.

The poor are young adults in this nation that cannot find a good paying job because older citizens are "more qualified" and have a lengthy work history to help in getting a job. You see, when you hear "no jobs in America", it isn't only coming from the mouth of a lazy lowlife who wants to be taken care of financially. People all across this nation are hurting due to outsourcing of jobs and an unforgiving economy. Are you really so blind to the facts that you cannot see this?

Sorry, but your view of how people should live is nothing but egotistical and borderline sadistic.

If their parents are "drug tested out of future work" I assume you mean leeches who are putting their drug habit ahead of feeding their children and working. If that is the case, those parents need to be stripped of their parental rights and their children need to be taken away from them and put into foster homes where they will be properly cared for by responsible adults. Someone who is high on drugs cannot properly care for a child, not one dime of our tax dollars should be wasted to provide any help to someone using drugs. That is the only solution that "puts the children first."

And you don't mention the middle income tax payers who are being taxed to death to support generations of people who are demanding a free ride. That money comes out of the paychecks of people who put the time into getting educated and work hard to provide for their own family. We have kids to feed too, but the deadbeats who feel justified to a chunk of our paychecks don't care that our children often have to do without things they need. Our grocery budgets usually get tight at the end of the month too, but we are not sticking our hand out because we are responsible and don't feel that anyone else owes us anything we aren't working for and earning ourselves.

There are consequences to your actions and the choices you make in life. If your education, work ethic, skills and motivation level don't qualify you for a job that pays enough to raise a family, maybe you should plan accordingly and not start a family until YOU can provide for them. You don't have a right to my paycheck simply because you failed to prepare and plan your life and now you can't afford the lifestyle you wish to be living. The taxpayers are not responsible for your children, YOU are. If the only job you are qualified for does not pay enough, you need to find a better job, another job or learn to manage your money better to live within your means so you can provide for your own family. That is what the taxpayers do with what little is left of our earnings after the Welfare leeches suck us dry every month.

In America everybody has the opportunity and the freedom to better themselves, but it requires the individual to be motivated and put in the effort to make that happen. Unfortunately, too many American's are not willing to do what it takes to be self-sufficient, they are satisfied to just stick their hand out and have the government take what someone else has earned to hand it to them. Then the Welfare slugs are so ungrateful they have the nerve to gripe that it's not enough and we should "give" them more. They try to put the guilt trip on the taxpayers, whining about the "hungry children" like it's our fault their children have crappy parents who don't take care of them.

The taxpayers are not to blame if children are going hungry, their parents are the adults who are solely responsible for their existence and for providing for them.

I think adults should be responsible and take care of themselves and the family they chose to have. I think adults should live within their means or be willing to do what it takes to EARN the lifestyle they wish to live. I think parents should take care of their own children, as I take care of my own children. I am not forcing you to support me or my family, what makes you feel justified in demanding that I take care of yours?

I agree with everything you said. However, it isn't ONLY the "deadbeats" that you are taking care of. That's what I was trying to get through with the first post. There are 2 kinds of people who receive government benefits. There are people who only use the benefits as long as they HAVE to.(which is a lot of people) Or, there are those who LIVE off of the welfare system and see no other way of life.

I'm sorry to say that you are a very cold person if you cannot see the difference in those who need it and those who "leech" off of the system.

Also, the middle class isn't the only class to be taxed. Those who struggle and live in poverty also have to pay for those who do not work. And when they take taxes from people who work full time and still make less than 20k a year, well... it hurts even more. You see, getting benefits is almost impossible for a family that has 2 working parents. If you DON'T work and have kids, you are pretty much handed everything you want.

Would you feel slighted knowing that you are helping working people? People that do not like the idea of having to use government funds to live. You are right, people have to live with the mistakes of their past. But, when they want to make things better for their family and cannot due to these very circumstances I mention, it keeps them down in the slump with no hope for a way out. This is wrong and people should be given the chance for a better life.

We didn't all come from a home that helped us become adults and guided us through school. We didn't all have parents that gave a shit if we even graduated HS. FROM THIS WE HAVE TO BUILD. And, I think everyone can agree that being young is a lot harder now than, say in the 70's. Sorry for the long post. Just have a lot of emotion towards this issue. FYI, my household does not receive your tax money, we struggle like you and get taxed just the same.
